About

A-Quality Pools runs pool service and maintenance from North Richland Hills, Texas. They handle hot tub and spa service and maintenance along with pool renovations, covers, fences, and sales of equipment such as pumps, filters, and Sundance hot tub models. The business also stocks parts for repairs and works on Polaris systems and other pool gear through their local store and service calls.

Customers report problems like leaks that went unchecked for months, damaged spas delivered with cracked panels and broken lights, robot cleaners left undiagnosed for three months or more, and actuators that failed after repeated visits without notice. Fixes mentioned include quick phone troubleshooting on low pressure issues by the service team, removal of a stuck cotter pin by Rick at no charge, pump replacements done in about an hour by Bill, and full automation plus resurfacing handled by Logan. Other outcomes cover filter lid parts located on site by Josh and honest suggestions that avoided unneeded purchases.

Response times vary with some calls for quotes or service taking weeks and repeated follow-ups needed while others note same-day parts availability and prompt site visits. Communication draws complaints about unanswered messages and vague scheduling yet praise for follow-up calls after jobs and straightforward pricing on repairs. Work stays local with techs covering the immediate area and the store open for drop-offs and equipment checks.

Reviews show a 4.3 Google rating from 238 reviews with frequent notes on delays in service and parts work alongside solid results from named techs like Rick, Bill, Logan, and Josh. DIRT Score 4 from reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

“Ever since I started using A-Quality Pools, the pool service has been so-so. I have heard that when you have a pool service that most people can just pay for someone else to do the work while they enjoy the pool. That has not been our experience with them. When we get started each year, it takes months to get it usable. Last year they told me about a leak. I agreed to have someone check the line. Nobody came, and I called repeatedly, but they were too busy. Finally, they asked me to call someone else for it. We didn't get to use the pool at all, but I still paid for someone to come out and dump chemicals into my moat. This year they finally sent someone to check the line. No leaks! Again, we have spent months trying to get them out here to make our pool usable. I asked them last month (mid-May) to get it swimmable by the time I came home from vacation (June 1st). Nope! Last week they finally got all the issues fixed they thought were wrong with it. They dumped a bunch of chemicals into it and were supposed to come out and vacuum yesterday (per our service agreement). Nope! Just more chemicals again. They are supposed to be vacuuming each visit, but they don't even though I have bee”

“I called this company for coping work. The owner came out and was a very nice guy. He was a great salesman too and I was ready to sign. His parting words, this isn't a big job so I will get you a quote by the end of the day. That was 3 weeks and two phone calls ago, asking where is the estimate? I called a third time today and I asked the lady, do you guys not need the work? She said, I'm going to be honest, (WHOA- huge flag) cuz they are never are honest when this is stated--she said, I asked him the last time you called; he just takes a long time. BEWARE--- OF THIS COMPANY!”

“My experience with A-Quality pools has been anything but good. The sales person was very friendly but that is where it stopped. The spa I purchased was in stock but yet could not be delivered for over a week because the installer was out of the office. You only have one person doing installs? Also told we can't deliver until we do a site inspection. It took them a week to come and do the site inspection, same guy is out of the office. The spa is finally delivered. The front panel is cracked, the front latch is bent and broken, the back panel is damaged from the trailer they brought it on and two of the LED light housings are broken and I can't fill the tub!! Three weeks later I still don't have a functioning hot tub!! I have called no less that six times with zero results!!! lies on top of lies is all I get. They will not even tell me if the parts have been ordered or if they have when do they arrive. How long do I have to wait??? Run away, fast. These people will take your money and leave you hanging.”

“A-Quality did a great job handling my Polaris warranty inquiry, troubleshooting my Polaris low pressure issue and helping me isolate the problem to my booster supply pump for resolution. Took no more than 5 minutes over the phone. I’ve since scheduled the pool equipment repair service. Their customer service and support between their retail and pool service reps helped save me time and money chasing a Polaris solution unnecessarily. Thank y'all so much.”

“I'm not sure what has happened to this place but it's definitely gone downhill. I dropped off my robot to be repaired Dec. 5th. I was told there were 8 others in front of mine and they should have it diagnosed by the end of the month. I paid the $75 fee and leave it there. I try to call mid Jan and no one answers, I leave a message, nothing, finally I stop by the store and I'm told they are just really backed up. Fast forward to now March, I call a few times to get an update and still no answer, I leave messages, and yet again, no one calls back. Finally I stop by again to check on it. Once someone finally steps out from the back to help me, I'm told it's still waiting to be diagnosed. They've had my pool cleaner for 3 months and never even looked at it. I guess they can only work one at a time, what happened to " we will know something by the end of Dec ?". I will say that when I asked for my equipment back and a refund on the diagnostic fee they did not hesitate. By the frustration I could see on the employee's face, I could tell I'm not the only person bothered by their practices of late. Now I'm on the hunt for a new pool supply and repair store.”

“I want to give a 10 star review for Rick. He went above and beyond the line of duty helping me today. He is professional, kind, caring and knows his business. Rick’s Follow up skills are awesome. Rick contacted me after I got home to make sure everything was ok. If your looking for a good pool company with outstanding customer service and quality products, please give A Quality a try, you won’t use anyone else! Thank you Rick!!”

Deanne Harvey

“This is in response to the lack of attention Braxton one of ur pool cleaners has again failed to inform me of our actuators going out! Now 836 dollars later I’ve not only paid for a new Polaris, then a new pump, and all could have been told to me regarding Polaris and actuators! I would like to request someone else to clean my pool from this point on!”

“Everyone that I worked with at A-Quality has been great and very professional. Their knowledge on what I need is fantastic. Been doing Business with A-Quality for over twenty years and plan on continuing. Their service department has took very good care of my pool. The only problem with the the service department is everyone know how great their service technicians are, so they are usually back up for a week or more.”

Daniel Russell

“In working with Logan S I want to tell everyone this is the company to use. I’ve had my pool resurfaced, all electronics completely automated, extremely knowledgeable Logan S will not let you down. THANK YOU.”

Brian Carpenter

“I had broke off part of the metal pin in my Hayward backwash piston. Tried everything to get it out. Brought it over to Rick at A-Quality Pools. After about 20 minutes and five different tools and a lot of muscle, He was able to remove the cotter pin. I offered to pay him, but it was no charge. You don't find that kind of customer service any more...willing to go the extra mile. Thank you A- Quality Pools!!!”

“I strongly advise against hiring this company. My experience with them has been extremely disappointing. Initially, they took over a year to install a heating system that cost $5,000. While they attributed the delay to pipeline issues and COVID-19, I was understanding at the time. However, my experience worsened with the next project: a PebbleTec installation costing over $10,000. Although the work was completed within a reasonable timeframe, the quality of the workmanship was severely lacking. The installation is marred by streaks, break points, and other defects, and the color is far from what was promised. Despite my repeated attempts to contact the company via email, phone, and text over several months, they have been completely unresponsive. Their lack of accountability has left me with no choice but to involve legal counsel. This is no longer a matter for small claims court due to the significant amount involved.”

“Recent experience with A-1 Quality pools was exceptional. Bill and the tech he was training was straight forward, honest and quick to respond to get my pool pump back up and running! Work was great, Price was great which in return was just a great experience overall. Had parts on the shelf and even plumbed everything correctly unlike the local chain store! Keep it local and support the ones that will support you with integrity and great pricing as well as give you their honest opinion! Thanks Bill and Team!”

Rodney Meadows

“Lacking service department and terrible customer service to top it off. We took a part in for a known issue, they kept it for almost 2 weeks, said it was fixed and it was not. We got a second opinion to confirm. The customer service lady was consistently short and rude, and even critical of us getting a second opinion. Overall horrible experience. We had a good experience with this business about a year ago. Sadly the quality has declined quickly.”

Mila Hunt

“They sent me a flyer for great prices and free estimates when I called in for appointment to have estimate was told like around 50.00 just to come out for estimate. First impressions are a big deal for me and after already being charged for a estimate I wont being doing any business with this company. They should be honest with flyers or not send them out.”

Myron Martinez

“we've been using A-Quality for a dozen years now and just recently had them come out to replace our main pump. they gave an honest opinion and suggestions, then did the work (in the rain) in about an hour. he was very thorough with the explanation of a variable speed pump (the old one was single-speed) and even suggested we hold off on replacing the cleaner pump. we made them our primary pool store when we couldn't get our water tested at leslie's without coming home with $100+ of chemicals. they've been 100% honest.”

John Leger

“I've always had a good experience in sales with A-Quality. Haven't used their service as I already had someone for the same but I'd not hesitate taking my business there if and when the time comes. Friendly people and competitive prices with sales/coupons considering it's not a chain like Leslie's.”

“The work they do is fine and professional. Their scheduling however is terrible. They give you a vague answer of how long it might take to come out or how much they are delayed with no specific appointment date. You just have to hope you are available or home when they call letting you know they're 20 minutes out or trust that they are doing the work you've paid for if you're not. On two separate occasions I waited 5 weeks for some basic service and both times had to call to basically remind them they had yet to come out 4 weeks after the initial call.”

Jeff Marsicano

“The lid to our pool filter shattered. I called several pool supply companies and they either didn't have the part or wanted to sell me a whole unit for $1600. Josh at A-Quality checked the supply room for the part and found it. (I have an idea some of the other companies couldn't be bothered to check). He was friendly, courtesous, and even carried the part out to my car. I will definitely do business with them again. It's so nice to be able to use a local company instead of Amazon.”

Eric

“We have been using this company for the majority of our pool services since we moved into our house in 2007. We love to support local businesses which is why we continued for so long. We have had really good techs in the past, but the most recent tech Brad, whom we have seen most often lately has finally moved us past using them anymore. They/Brad does the least work possible which often means a bandaid for the symptom and not correcting the problem. The good experiences we had in the past are now overshadowed by the bad service and support of poor quality after bringing it to their attention multiple times.”

Erika Resener

“AQuality Pools took their time to figure out what was wrong with my pool equipment after another company had said extra stuff needed replaced when it didn’t and saved me a lot of money.”
