About

Round Rock Pool Pros handles pool cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and remodeling from its base in Round Rock, Texas, serving the Greater Austin area. The company provides weekly service visits that include water chemistry checks and equipment inspections, followed by detailed reports sent to customers after each stop. It handles new pool construction as well as remodel projects such as resurfacing, tile work, and feature additions like waterfalls. Quotes are issued after an initial discussion of the pool's condition and needs, with no contracts required.

Customers report a range of jobs completed by named technicians. Kevin and Wes managed a full pool build that finished ahead of schedule despite design changes during the work. Fred oversaw multiple remodels including waterfall installations and equipment upgrades, while Shaun handled re-plumbing, heater additions, and light repairs that restored function without flooding the surrounding area. Justin and his crew replaced pumps and addressed valve issues on sand filters, often arriving with same-day estimates and completing the work within a couple of days when parts were available. Some projects involved fixing cracks in gunite or moving equipment, though a number of reviews describe extended timelines stretching months beyond initial estimates and repeated follow-up calls needed to keep work moving.

The company operates with text updates, a web portal for estimates and payments, and emphasis on clear communication during active jobs. Service reaches Round Rock and surrounding communities, with technicians responding to repair calls on leaks, filters, and automation problems. Reviewers note that initial contacts often lead to quick scheduling, yet several accounts mention slower responses once contracts are signed or when parts delays occur. Pricing is described as reasonable on smaller repairs, and the absence of surprise charges is mentioned alongside the practice of sending service reports.

Round Rock Pool Pros holds a 4.7 rating from 272 Google reviews. Recurring topics include solid results on equipment fixes and feature installations by specific technicians alongside complaints about project delays, communication gaps, and quality issues on some larger remodels.

“If you are looking for a team that does it all and cares during the process Round Rock Pool Pros is it. Don't look anywhere else. Kevin and Wes were amazing when it came to building and designing our dream pool the pool. Even when we changed a few things along the way Wes and Kevin worked with us to get the design right. They not only kept to there timeline but finished a few weeks ahead of schedule. We were able to have our daughter's birthday party which was amazing. Wes, would always answer any question we had about the system. Kevin, was always keeping us in the loop on the next steps. These 2 guys work great as a team to get the pool finished. If you are thinking in building a pool call them today. Thank you guys. You brought to life our dream pool.”

“We were in desperate need of a waterfall remodel. Round Rock Pool Pros did excellent work and our finished product was better than we imagined. Fred was great to work with and he made sure every step was done professionally and was exactly what we wanted. So happy with the work and highly recommend!”

“We rented an airbnb that apparently uses this service and as one of the girls in our group was taking our belongings out to her car when the pool maintenance worker arrived. He pulled up quickly, and before introducing himself or explaining why he was there, he immediately started yelling, asking, “Do we have a problem?” and using profanity. She is a small young woman, and having a much larger man approach her that way understandably frightened her. She came back inside visibly shaken and crying, and we immediately locked the back door because we had no idea who he was or why he was acting that way. We understand his truck may have had a company logo on it, but in a situation where someone is being yelled at, their focus isn’t on reading the side of a vehicle. A simple introduction such as, “Hi, I’m here to clean the pool,” would have completely changed the interaction. Even so, we wanted to make sure there was no misunderstanding or lingering tension, so we all went back outside with our friend while she apologized to him. We wanted to approach the situation with kindness and respect because our faith teaches us to love everyone, and we did not want anyone to think there was any h”

“RRPP built my pool in 2021.. A small crack developed into a large one. None of the pool virus going around, just a patch of bad gunite. He fixed it and it looks as good as new. And he didn’t cut corners as you can see. Thank you around Rock Pool Pros. You stand behind your work!”

“Disappointing Experience with Round Rock Pools. I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Round Rock Pools for a pool remodel project that turned out to be a source of frustration and disappointment. We signed a contract with them in mid-November 2022, with the understanding that the project would take approximately 3 weeks. However, the final walk-through didn't happen until a staggering 7 MONTHS later on June 21, 2023. Throughout the entire process, numerous issues arose that significantly impacted my satisfaction with their services. The floor cleaning nozzles repeatedly popped out due to improper installation, and the concrete coping cracked within months of completion. The in-floor cleaning system failed to work after the pool was filled, and initial attempts to address these problems were met with reluctance to accept responsibility. Finally, one particular incident that stands out is the recent request for a simple reinstallation of a floor cleaning nozzle that was not properly installed. Justin, the owner of Round Rock Pools, insisted on charging $150 for a 5-minute task since it their work was finished 4 months ago, citing a supposed 4-month warranty per”

“Beware of Round Rock Pool Pros. You will wish you had gone with someone else instead. Contacted Round Rock Pool Pros back in beginning of 2021. Here we are in 2023 and still don't have a completed pool. This has been 2 years of zero communication, zero project management, zero anything. The only time I get anything is if I reach out and even then, I barely get anything. I have an old pool that needed some repairs and remodel. RRPP were very responsive in the beginning, in the sales part of the process, but once the contract was signed, they disappeared. Each step of the way has been like pulling teeth, nothing would be done until I complained, suddenly there would be full of activity and then nothing for another period. I missed a whole summer with no pool as it sat there empty, chipped out and nothing. Finally, after months of waiting the plastering was scheduled. The team came out and got the plaster completed and started the filling of the pool which took a day and a half to get completed. I also asked if I should get a tanker in to do the filling but was told garden hose is sufficient. After 48 hours I noticed a few things, hairline cracks on the steps and leaves embedded i”

“Team Shawn/Shaun did a great job of re-plumbing and adding a second heater to my equipment. The routing was perfect and spacious with zero drip on the pipes. I would definitely recommend Round Rock Pool Pros for this type of work. Extremely professional job.”

“These guys do quality work and are very knowledgeable. They have repaired equipment on our pool and most recently put in a nice water fall/feature (and planter). Shaun was a pool genius. We had an issue with a pipe suddenly leaking on our job and Shaun (I'm not making this up) asked for a loaf of bread and used it to temporarily stop the leak. He was then able to fix it quickly without our yard becoming flooded. That was some serious quick thinking McGuyver stuff right there! Really courteous guys and I felt comfortable during the whole process. Thanks!”

“Can't say enough good things about Round Rock Pool Pros! We got bids from multiple local pool remodelers and we definitely picked the right vendor. Communication was impressive, they were extremely professional, and they delivered on everything as promised. The finished product is spectacular and we couldn't be more pleased. We really loved our project manager, Fred! He showed up every day, managed every detail of the project and was a lot of fun to work with. His knowledge of pool replastering and maintenance was one of the main reasons we selected RRPP. He patiently answered all our questions and taught us the correct way to care for our pool via an app. We call him the pool whisperer because deciphering the pool chemistry is second nature to him. Highly recommend this company! Be sure to ask for Fred, aka, the pool whisperer, as your project manager!”

“HARD PASS. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! Moved to a new house and shopping for pool service. Submitted an online request on their website Wednesday around 9 AM. Out of the 5 companies I submitted a request to, they were the 2nd ones I reached out to but the last ones to reach out back to me (excluding the auto-generated "thank you" text which the other pool companies sent as well). Lisa from the office called me Wednesday at 5:38 PM and said she could have a tech come out the next day to give me a quote. Jose came out Thursday around noon. He was super nice and professional. He said he would get me 3 different quotes for the 3 type of packages they offer by the end of the day or the next day (Friday) in the morning at the latest. By Friday at 4:25 PM, I had yet to receive anything so I called and spoke to Lisa and she said they'll send it over shortly. They sent 2 quotes (not 3) at 4:40 PM. Monday morning at 10 AM, I called to discuss the quotes for further clarification, especially since the links weren't working. Lisa said she's going to call Jose and call me right back. She never did. Tuesday morning at 8:28 AM, almost a week after I had initially reached out, I called saying the”

“Pool Repair Nightmare: Six Months, $400, and Zero Solutions I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with Round Rock Pool Pros. Our experience with them was an absolute nightmare, spanning over six months and costing us $400, only to end up with an unrepaired pool and a ridiculously unhelpful and INCORRECT diagnosis. ⏳ The Endless Waiting Game They initially came out for a relatively simple pool repair issue. Over the next half a year, they made a few visits each one concluding with a part that was seemingly impossible to get. Communication was poor, I had to call them every 2-3 weeks for updates, and the actual time spent on diagnosis was minimal compared to the agonizing wait times between appointments. 💸 Money Down the Drain We were charged approximately $400 for these inconclusive visits—money spent purely on their inability to diagnose or fix the problem. They billed us for their time and labor which ultimately amounted to nothing more than burning through our budget. ❌ The Final, Incorrect Verdict After six months of this back-and-forth, their final "professional" opinion was that the issue was a major, expensive malfunction—either ”

“Round Rock Pool Pros did a great job. This is the 3rd pool we have built at 3 different houses and this pool installation was by far more organized and supervised by any other pool builder. I have been an electrical/building automation contractor for 40 years and Fred with Round Rock Pool Pros was the most organized and hands-on construction supervisor I have worked with. He was on-site every day checking on his workers and he takes pride in the quality of his work. We also worked with their design consultant Lisa in their main office and she was a great help in choosing our colors, tiles and textures. She showed us many samples and pictures of different installations. We looked at many different types of pools from shipping container pools, concrete vault plunge pools, fiberglass pools and gunite (concrete) pools and in the end we took pricing from fiberglass vs gunite pool contractors. We really wanted a gunite pool but we were afraid the pricing was going to be out of our budget but the gunite was only about 5% more than the fiberglass pool. We also saved money by not adding a hot tub. Construction of the pool and concrete deck was completed in 60 days with ZERO punchlist items”

“HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Round Rock Pools started our remodel in January and “Finished” 8 months later. The quality was subpar to just BAD! The first stage was to resurface and tile, that was fine, we got what we paid for. We did have to call them out 3 times to fix chipped tiles, that if the foreman was there he would have handled, but he only showed up when called. They also built a waterfall, that had to be completely torn down and built to spec of the original agreement. But the coping was damaged, scratched, chipped, and overall low quality. It has the disc marks from the cutting so grooved into the coping it looks horrible. They never suggested a way to fix it, they kept asking me how to fix it. They tried sanding it down to little to no success. The fact that they tried to “fix it” instead of replacing it was just unprofessional. We finally asked them to replace the damaged coping, 12 out of 28. The manager showed up at our house, very aggressive, threatening to take us to court and put a lien on our house. All parties involved agreed the coping was damaged, but they refused to fix it. We are currently taking legal actions to get a refund on the coping. Worst experience with a ”

“I really appreciate Shaun from Round Rock Pool Pros. He was out this morning to troubleshoot our pool light. Not only did he quickly identify and fix the issue, Shaun provided tips on what to do if we experience a power outage/freeze again. Our pool is maintained and was recently refinished by the amazing team at Round Rock Pool Pros.”

“I have been looking for someone to come out and address a minor leak at our pool equipment, when the shears are on, for more than a year. After multiple calls, appointments, and no-shows with other folks, I lost hope and put the repair off. Last week, the heater on our external spa started acting up so when looking for someone to repair that I decided to try again with the pool plumbing repair and called Round Rock Pool Pros. Justin was super helpful and asked me to email him a few photos of the plumbing. Within an hour, I received a very reasonable estimate and a link to their web portal which was easy to navigate. In a matter of minutes, I was able to accept the estimate, pay a deposit, and schedule the repair for the following Monday. Armando arrived on time and the repair performed quickly and properly. I was kept up-to-date throughout the process via text messages and Justin and even provided me with some leads on a spa repair service since they do not repair external hot tubs/spas. Thanks for restoring my faith in pool repair companies!”

“I can't be grateful enough to Fred who came out for a consultation today. If there were 6 or 10 stars, I would go that far. For starters, when I made the initial call, Lisa in the office was the only person with any pool company I contacted who was willing to just listen to my questions and give detailed answers. After today, I know that Round Rock saved us many thousands of dollars. Our previous local pool service company had given us estimates of $2500 for filter repairs and told us another $20,000 in repairs were urgently necessary. When Fred from Round Rock came out this morning, he found the filter parts spread out on the lawn near the pump, perfectly intact but just in need of cleaning. He thinks the other guy took the filter apart and didn't know how to put it back together. For no fee (!!!!!) in a free consultation, Fred cleaned the parts, put them all together, and even repaired a pipe that was broken. He told us how to find a kit and an app to do our own regular servicing, and also said that the $20,000 expense would be not structural but merely cosmetic, and could wait indefinitely. So we figure Fred just saved us $22,500. He never even tried to suggest that we get a”

“Justin & his team are wonderful. I have to give a huge shout out to Josh—he is an amazing employee! He went above and beyond for us after the freeze. He and his team worked endless hours making repairs and he made sure we were prioritized. I appreciate the excellent customer service he provided. He is always friendly and helpful when at our home and does a wonderful job servicing our pool. I would highly recommend Round Rock Pool Pros to all of my friends and family.”

“I reached out to Round Rock Pool Pros to get my pool pump replaced as it had finally reached its end of life. Knowing the basics of the situation, I was able to pass that information along and was able to work with J on a solution to get our pool back up and running. We had an estimate sent over same day and scheduled for repair within 2 days as the parts were lucky in-stock. On install day team was prompt and professional to get the pump installed in a timely manor. I work from home and they were kind and curious to work around my schedule and to ensure they did not disrupt my working day. We did end up having an issue with our automation controller and the pump, but another few conversations with J and we were able to get some time back on the calendar to have the team back out and get everything resolved. Our pool is now back to 100% and it's all big thanks to the team at Round Rock Pool Pros. I highly recommend this team and company!”

“If you’re thinking about hiring Round Rock Pool Pros for anything other than a sand change, find another company. I hired them 4 years ago to replace my skimmer, and I’m still scraping out the cement that they left in all the crevices, including the cement stuck to the diverter plate. They also failed to install the weir flap. I gave them another chance, hoping the skimmer install was an isolated issue at the height of the pandemic. I hired them to move my pool equipment 6-12 inches away from my house, and to replace my multi-port valve and sand. The equipment sits on pavers and was level when they started, but it isn’t level now. Instead, my sand filter now leans toward my house 28 degrees, and Justin’s excuse was that the price they quoted did not include the cost of leveling my equipment. He said he’d work out a deal to fix it (Really? What a generous guy), but of course I never heard from him again. Had I known that I had to specifically ask them to make sure my equipment was level when they bid the project, I would have gladly paid another company double to do it right. Lastly, even when they know you’re not satisfied with the work, they will collect payment anyway by charg”

“I had Round Rock Pool Pros come out to fix the valve on my sand filter and clean it out. Dan and Shaun were on time and very professional. They even entertained my bored husband, who was home for the day and likely looking over their shoulders and talking their ears off. I always call these guys because they are responsive and reasonable on repair pricing. Plus the job they do is fantastic. I love the text updates and the quote & payment system. I have given up on ever calling anyone else for pool related matters!”
