Alex Pool Service

Alex Pool Service operates out of Sugar Land, Texas, with owner Alex running the day to day work on pools and related backyard features. The company handles new pool construction, remodeling projects, resurfacing, replastering, tile work, leak repairs, pump and heater fixes, filter changes, salt water system installs, automation upgrades, paver installation, and routine cleaning and maintenance. Reviewers note the business covers jobs in Sugar Land and the greater Houston area, with Alex often showing up in person to assess issues and guide selections on finishes or equipment.

Customers report specific fixes such as replacing a water feature pump in one day after a quick estimate, repairing a split union and damaged heater plumbing that prior companies had only patched, replastering with stone scape materials and abalone shells, converting to salt systems, removing old rock formations or nonfunctional foundations, upgrading automation setups, installing deck jets and control systems, and laying pavers across backyard spaces. Outcomes include pools that look better than original builds, equipment that runs without leaks, and yards that match the look owners wanted after years of issues.

Alex responds the next morning on urgent calls, supplies detailed options with competitive pricing, keeps projects on short timelines like draining and chipping one day then finishing plaster four days later, and stays in touch through calls or even FaceTime when older equipment causes repeated questions. Reviewers mention the work stays clean, crews are punctual and organized, rates stay reasonable compared with larger outfits, and follow up continues after completion to confirm everything holds.

Recurring comments focus on honest dealings, clear communication, and solid results across repairs and larger jobs, with many long term clients returning for weekly service or new additions. DIRT Score 4.5 from reviews on Finds.

“Because of the cost of resurfacing our pool, we looked at three companies. The price was essentially the same. We felt the next most important decision was the capability of the manager of the project. The quality of the project always comes down to the leadership of the person in charge. It was obvious to us Alex would be the best. We had already done two smaller projects with him and were thoroughly satisfied with the results. Like Alex, his subcontractors are professional and perfectionists with great people skills. We are thrilled with the outcome of our pool.”

“Had Alex Pool Service replace my water feature pump. He responded quickly and provided a detailed estimate with several options. Installed the pump the next day. Everything went smoothly and he was easy to work with. Highly recommend.”

“Alex completely redid our pool with tiles and decking and removed an old foundation that was non functional and then redid the yard around it. He also installed a salt water system. The whole pool area and the pool itself are gorgeous and look better than when we bought the house 25 years ago. I am giving Alex's pool service the highest rating possible.”

“I had a great experience with this pool company! The owner, Alex, is a true professional—very honest and respectful. The team was highly organized and hardworking throughout the project. If you are looking to build a pool, I highly recommend this company specifically. They are truly fantastic!"”

“I highly recommend Alex Pool Services. After two other companies let me down—one overpriced the job and only patched the leak, while the other never showed up—Alex came out the very next morning and properly repaired the split union and damaged plumbing going into my pool heater at a very reasonable price. The work was clean and professional, and I waited three weeks before posting this review to make sure the repair held and the leak didn’t return. Everything is still working perfectly. I’ll definitely be calling Alex for my future pool needs.”

“We worked with Alex since day one when we bought our house in Sugar Land. They replastered our pool, changed the horrible old beige looking pool, and removed the rock formation that brings debris in. We picked what our pool would look like and we like the lagoon look. Not ever owning a pool, Alex was very helpful in helping us newbies. We have since changed the filter and used Alex again. Very seamless, friendly, and helpful company. See old picture vs. what Alex's team did. Fantastic job and what we wanted!! My toddlers also love him as he jokes and plays with them, an added bonus.”

“Alex came to my house and personally reviewed my situation. I re-plastered my pool with stone scape aqua blue mini pebbles and abalone shells. The process was seamless. One day they drained the water from my pool and chipped out old plaster that needed to be removed. 4 days later a crew of five came out and completed the entire job. The results are spectacular. Not only are the results great, the time frame was as best as could be expected, and the rates were very competitive. This is a five-star company all the way!”

“I have been using Alex’s Pool Service for about a year now, and the customer service is unmatched. My equipment is older and not very user-friendly, so there have been quite a few hiccups since I moved into this house. Alex and his team are always quick to respond and answer any and all questions. We’ve had countless FaceTime calls that always end in success. I truly appreciate how patient, knowledgeable, and reliable they are. Highly recommend!”

“This was our first time using Alex Pool Services. We had our pool replastered (StoneScapes, Tropics blue), some minor coping repair, and replaced our old DE filter and energy hog pump. We are very pleased with our experience and the final result. He was communicative, helpful with recommendations, and the pricing was better than we found elsewhere. We will be back next time for sure.”

“Alex came through big for us. The larger pool companies quoted us much higher prices, but Alex not only saved us money — he got to work right away. He upgraded our automation system and had our 8-relay setup fully operational in under a day. It’s hard to find someone this responsive, knowledgeable, and fair. We couldn’t be happier!”

“Alex was able to fit me in to his busy schedule on Easter weekend. Did a great quick job and fixed my filter valve in a flash. Honest pricing and great communication!”

“Alex has been my wife’s and I service for 8 years. Prior to that he has been my wife’s pool service for more than 15 yrs. We highly recommend Alex’s Pool service. We have an issue with our pool or spa and Alex responds and get the issue solved. From weekly pool servicing, to replacing valves, pumps, filter, actuators and even the drain pipe to the street, he has been on the spot every time. “Alex and his crew are Fabulous! We are so pleased with the amazing work they did in resurfacing our pool. They were always prompt and courteous, they paid close attention to detail and cleaned up all around the pool area so nicely at the end of each day. I didn’t realize just how much hard work that goes in to the resurfacing of a pool! Alex & guys are great and sure know what they are doing!”

“Alex pools was referred to us when we bought our house two years ago. They did a fantastic job installing and new pool heater, deck jets and a Hayward Omnilogic control system. Also helped us convert our pool to salt water which was a breeze. Alex has even personally helped us get equipment covered under warranty from Hayward. We didn’t have to lift a finger or make a phone call. Highly recommend giving Alex a call for your next pool project.”
