Alternative Energy Southeast, Inc.

Alternative Energy Southeast, Inc. handles solar work out of Augusta, AK. They put in solar panel arrays, Powerwall battery units, and Tesla wall chargers. Crews also handle maintenance calls, panel cleanings, software updates, and inverter swaps when needed. Reviewers mention techs such as Christian, Tony, Derrek, Sean, Aaron, Russell, Gordon, Sam, Lauren, and Jon showing up for these jobs.

Homeowners describe full solar system installs that include battery backup, charger setups for new electric vehicles, and roof projects where panels come off and go back on after new roofing. Some needed help fixing WiFi issues on older Powerwalls or replacing inverters under warranty with only labor costs. Others called for post-pollen cleanings or system checks after years of use. Crews finished installs in a day or two in many cases, located missed builder issues during work, and got systems running without extra delays.

Reviewers note the crews stay in touch from the first video call through final setup, answer questions on site, and leave the property clean. They coordinate around supply waits for batteries and meet scheduled times even on jobs far outside town or down in Atlanta. Work covers both new installs and service on systems already in place for a decade.

The company holds steady praise for clear updates, on-time arrivals, and solid results across dozens of jobs. Google shows 4.9 from 109 reviews. DIRT Score 4.7 from reviews on Finds.

“AES does terrific work. We have been very pleased with the quality of service, the communication and the workmanship of our solar installation. Christian, Tony and the gang did a wonderful job installing the panels and Powerwall on our house and even helped us identify an issue our builder missed. We highly recommend AES if you are installing solar!”

“The Team at AES did an exceptional job, from the video call to properly bid the job, to installation quality and professionalism. Panel was almost full and they came up with solutions to facilitate a 60 amp circuit for my home Tesla charger. They were highly responsive when contacted. Would highly recommend for your home charger install.”

“AES has once again served me well. They came and installed a Tesla wall charger at my home. The crew were polite and competent and cleaned up after themselves. I'll soon get to use the charger because my first EV car will be here in 2 days. PS: my first experience with AES was solar roof panels. Sadly I no longer own that property.”

“I cannot recommend Alternative Energy Southeast strongly enough. From the initial conversations about the project, the installation process, and yesterday’s cleaning maintenance AES was an excellent partner. They showed up when they had arranged, completed the work and were happy to answer all of my questions. They are an outstanding team and I highly recommend them.”

“Derrek coordinated with me to have the panels removed so we could install a new roof, and re-install the panels afterwards. The crew were very hard working and had the system installed and working just over a week from the start of the project. Very satisfied. Highly recommend this company!”

“AES did a fantastic job!! Highly recommend them for your solar needs. The ordering and installation process for a Powerwall was easy and the installation only took a day. The installers, Sean and his assistant, were easy to work with, explained the install well, and did a top notch job on the installation.”

“AES installed a 5 MWh solar system with a Powerwall over 6 years ago. I recently had a Powerwall issue (first one) with the WiFi communications being offline. I went through troubleshooting with a Telsa tech, but they could not figure out the issue, so I called AES. The AES tech was on time. He contacted Telsa and they had the issue resolved in about a half an hour. The AES tech took the time to explain how things work and what was going on. He also provided some helpful troubleshooting tips for the next time there's an issue.”

“We had a great experience working with Dereck and the team at Alternative Energy. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process, and Dereck consistently kept us informed every step of the way. As a fellow business, we really appreciate partners who are organized, responsive, and professional. We would absolutely recommend Alternative Energy and look forward to working together again in the future.”

“It's still early in the ownership phase, but so far I'm very pleased. The initial cost was honestly higher than I expected, but even with conservative numbers, I should get an ROI within 8 years if you include the 26% tax credit that is currently available. The plans were very detailed, and the overall experience was very professional. My only complaint is that Georgia Power limits the net metering to 10kwh systems. Otherwise I would love to expand what I have. My rep was Aaron, and he promised that I would have the system up and running by the end of the year, and he was correct. He also spent a lot of time on the phone answering a ton of questions. I highly recommend this company if you decide to pursue solar power for your home or business.”

“Every step of the way they kept us informed. When the insulation began, it took just two days to complete. Every person we talk to Was very kind, courteous, and professional. I’m happy we went with them..”

“AES is an outstanding and friendly company to work with. They installed my power wall and solar systems in 2022. I could not have gotten a better company for my solar needs.”

“I worked with AES on a solar panel and battery installation. The team--Russell, Gordon, Sam, Lauren, and Jon--are knoweldgable and responsive. I appreciate the time each of them took to answer questions and address concerns. I would use AES again based on my experience working with this team.”

“We have had our solar array for 10 years and AES was always there if we ever had a problem. Just recently our inverter took a dump and it was replaced under warranty from the manufacturer and only had to pay labor charges. Thanks AES”

“We had a wonderful experience with AES Alternative Energy Southeast from start to finish. Communication was clear and consistent across the board—from the design manager and project coordinator to the installation team and financial consultant. The entire process was easy to navigate and very smooth. Everyone we worked with was knowledgeable, professional, and supportive, which made the transition to solar feel effortless. We’re so glad to be joining the solar community and highly recommend AES to anyone considering solar and battery backup.”

“AES has performed both a full new install (far out out of town) and maintenance at my home in ATL of Powerwall systems. All the troops were delightful. Warm, helpful, thoughtful to the properties and most importantly knowledgeable. Being in the energy business I can spot a good crew, management and ownership when I see it. I'm very impressed. Kudos!”

“I have been a customer for the better part of the decade and cannot recommend a more reputable local installer. The AES team is highly communicative, does a great job, and stands by their work.”

“The team was very knowledgeable, courteous, didn’t leave any trash behind and cleaned up the area. The solar panels are hardly noticeable. Now I just need to see if it reduces my electric bill.”

“Alternative Energy Southeast (AES) did an excellent job installing our 15 panels in one day and cleaned up after themselves. We had to wait awhile for our Tesla Powerwall due to a supply shortage at Tesla but that installation also went smoothly and now we are enjoying days with less than 50% of our power coming from the grid! It's early in the year and we look forward to pulling even less power from the grid as the daylight hours lengthen. We were completely satisfied with the work AES has done for us. AES is an honest, knowledgeable and efficient company that is a pleasure to do business with. Highly recommend them as a choice for a well designed and properly installed solar system.”

“I recently used AES for my solar panel installation, and I’m very satisfied with the entire process. The team was professional, punctual, and explained everything clearly. The installation was done efficiently, and they made sure my system was up and running without any issues. I’m already seeing savings on my energy bills and I feel good about using clean energy. I’d highly recommend them to anyone considering going solar!”

“The cleaning of the panels and system software update were scheduled when I wanted (after the pollen season) and the crew was efficient, friendly and on-time. I'm still waiting for an invoice.”
