8MSolar

8MSolar handles solar panel work from their base in Mooresville. They put up panels on houses and businesses, add battery storage like Tesla Powerwall units, install EV chargers, and take care of repairs or removals when needed. The outfit covers spots across North Carolina and Virginia, with equipment options that include Qcells and Enphase along with incentives and tax credit help for both homes and larger setups like farms or storage buildings.

Homeowners call them for full system installs that include new breaker panels and sub panels, plus battery backups that tie into existing power. Reviews mention crews finishing 39 panels plus inverters in under 12 hours, sorting out Tesla battery swaps when glitches popped up, and pushing through city delays on inspections by staying in touch daily. One job involved two sets of plans to clear an HOA limit on roof spots, after which the panels and battery went in the same day. Others note systems sized for chicken farms or commercial canopies, with follow-up on utility approvals and rebates from Duke Energy.

They show up when scheduled, keep folks posted by phone and email, and handle the permitting and power company steps themselves. Pricing comes in competitive on bigger jobs, with crews working one day on many installs and leaving the site clean before they go. Service stretches through North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, with quick responses when inspections or equipment issues hit.

The company holds a 4.9 Google rating across 601 reviews, where people keep bringing up solid communication, clean finishes, and systems that run as planned even after hiccups. A few note fair terms that do not dump all risk on the buyer. DIRT Score 4.8 from reviews on Finds.

“I recently had a great experience with 8MSolar. They did a fantastic job with the installation, and communication throughout the process was top-notch. Any questions or concerns I had were resolved quickly and professionally. The installation was completed right on the scheduled day, and afterwards, the team left the area completely clean. Everything is working perfectly and as expected. Highly recommend!”

“Last summer after purchasing a house in NC, I looked into getting a solar energy system with a battery backup. Quickly realized that the Tesla Powerwall 3 would be the best fit for my needs, so then looked into a good installer. Checked out a few, and 8MSolar stood out at the top with the best price for the Tesla Powerwall 3 as well as solar panels from Canadian Solar. I also needed a new main breaker panel as well as a new sub panel, and 8Msolar quoted for that as well with a highly competitive price. On the strength of the competitive pricing, good outreach, and numerous good reviews, I went with 8M. This was a large and complex installation (in my opinion), which ultimately included 2 Powerwall 3's, 2 additional Tesla battery expansion units, about 11kW of panels, a new 200 amp main panel, and a new 200 amp sub panel in the garage. The job took 2 days, however the team was large, worked hard, and honestly it was a massive undertaking with all the new solar circuits as well as a new 200 amp feed from the main panel to the sub panel. The quality of installation was superb, the conduits were run perfectly in alignment with clean bends, all the battery units aligned perfectly, and”

“Had a great experience with solar install. 8M employees were all very professional and highly communicative throughout the process. Our city continued to delay final inspection, but 8M folks were all over it and communicated daily with us on the city's delay. So far the panels appear to be functioning just as promised! We are happy with the project and would recommend 8M to any friends in the area.”

“Im extremely pleasedwith the Whole installation and purchase procedure. They were there for less than 12 hours and installed 39 panels, my Tesla inverter and had the system up and running that day! everything was cleaned up before they left. Highly recommended!”

“I had a very good experience with 8M Solar. From the beginning sales cycle to final installation. Everyone was very professional and maintained excellent communications. They laid out a process and initiated the plan according to the schedule. The mark of a good company is not how they perform when everything goes perfectly, but how they respond when things happen beyond their control. We encountered a few glitches with the Tesla batteries and they were very quick to get replacements and complete the installation. The teams installed the roof panel, batteries and all associated equipment. They scheduled the county inspections and power company interactions. I highly recommend this company if you are considering solar.”

“They did great work! They handled issues that arose well. The measure of a company is how they respond when things are not perfect. We had issue with inspection and they handled quickly. The price was fair and the system was perfectly sized for our home.”

“I DO NOT RECOMMEND. ***UPDATE*** As a result of your comments below. We did not request "free" We requested at cost.. meaning that whatever the equipment costs we would pay, and install for free as all the errors were borne by 8MSolars efforts, or lack thereof. Your installers told me that the did not work as salaried employees for 8MSolar. That they were Independent Contractors hired on a per job basis. I don't know if any company is worse, or any better. These people fail to follow up on many aspects of the transaction. It appears that they could care less about anything other than collecting payment. They miscalculated our needs by nearly 1/2 resulting in our still having a significant Utility bill (while having promised me a net-zero bill... their words) . They not once had a Licensed Electrician on site. When you call them out on being dissatisfied, they threaten to walk away from the project (once they've already received a portion of payment). And threatened to cancel our applications with the Utility resulting in complete Solar reapplication process. The installers did a great job, but they were not employees (as promised). We simply had a horrible experience ”

“I had an absolutely amazing experience working with 8MSolar for the installation of Solar panels and Tesla Powerwall 3 at my home in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, NC. From start to finish, the entire project was executed exceptionally well. Everything was completed on time — I would even say ahead of schedule! What impressed me most was the excellent communication throughout the process. I was consistently kept informed through both email and phone calls, so I always knew what to expect and where things stood. A special thank-you to Mr. Rana Mehmood, the Project Coordinator, who was exceptional throughout the entire process. Rana is extremely attentive, professional, responsive, and very knowledgeable, particularly when it comes to electrical engineering. He took the time to answer my questions, explain the technical aspects clearly, and make sure everything was handled properly. I also want to recognize Mr. Edward (on-site Project Lead) and the entire 8MSolar team for their professionalism, expertise, and commitment to quality. Everyone involved worked together seamlessly, and the installation process was smooth and hassle-free. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my exper”

“I had a wonderful experience with 8M Solar. The team did a great job explaining the solar system, pricing, and all the terms and conditions clearly. They were transparent, professional, and made sure I understood everything before moving forward. The solar installation was excellent—the team was efficient, professional, and paid great attention to detail. From the initial discussions through the installation, the entire process was smooth and well managed. I really appreciate the excellent service and the quality of the installation. Highly recommend 8M Solar to anyone considering going solar!”

“A few years ago, I got a door knock about solar panels for our house. I was intrigued but did not wake up that day thinking about buying solar. A few months ago, I wanted to know more. I searched for a top rated company in my area and 8MSolar came up as a best provider. From the initial interaction with the salesperson who I reached out to, to the project manager, site manager, and the crews who did the install it has been only great, professional interactions. Reviewing the financial side of going solar seemed like a no brainer and there were several options to meet my family's needs. I now watch my solar panel energy flow more than I'm watching Netflix! I highly recommend 8MSolar for your solar needs . They have been fantastic!”

“The 8M was always very responsive and helpful to navigate through that process that seemed once overwhelming. The install smoothly and was accomplished all in one day. They did our good job cleaning up after the project. So far we're super happy with the solar panel install, Tesla powerwall 3, and generation capability. After a month of use, it looks like the 8M m models used to estimate yearly power will be right on. Thanks”

“Deciding to go solar isn’t as easy as it may appear. However, working with the 8MSolar profesional team makes this process extremely seamless from the beginning until the end. You will have several questions, no question will be left unanswered. Permits, installation, etc, will be very simple and time efficient. Timeline given was actually shorter than expected if you submit documents promptly. Duke energy actually grants rebate as they say to lower the solar cost. Received the tesla powerwall rebate as well. It took a little longer than everything else but it happened. Now, if you have a Tesla automobile, the ecosystem for the application is very easy to manage and works wonderful. We drive two electric cars and consume a lot more electricity than an average household, but we pay a lot less now including the loan taken to get the panels and powerwall. Plus, we do not have to be concerned about the gas & electricity prices going higher. Even in cloudy rainy days, you will still have some power coming in from the sun. Installation for the system was performed in one day. Again, very impressive job. Thank you 8MSolar”

“We recommend 8M solar as a family! They were fantastic to work with and took care of all the leg work with county and city permitting. On final inspection the city inspected commented that he had never seen a more professional instillation and passed our system without any corrections needing to be made.”

“I had an excellent experience with 8M Solar from start to finish. The entire team was professional, knowledgeable, and responsive throughout the installation process. They took the time to explain every step, answer all my questions, and ensure I understood how the system would benefit my home. The installation crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and completed the job with great attention to detail. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding, and they left the property clean after the installation was completed. What impressed me most was their customer service and commitment to making the process smooth and stress-free. The solar system is performing exactly as promised, and I am already seeing the benefits. I highly recommend 8M Solar to anyone considering solar energy. Their expertise, professionalism, and dedication to customer satisfaction truly set them apart.”

“We're is a neighborhood with an HOA that restricts where on the roof solar panels maybe installed. In our case we had to make two separate sets of plans before we were able to get approval from the HOA Board to move forward. 8MSolar was very helpful in providing the information we needed to obtain our HOA Board approval. Once we had HOA approval, 8MSolar was able move forward with ordering all of the materials and once they were delivered, the installation was completed in one day. We also had the Tesla battery installed, and it has exceeded my expectations in managing when to use power from the battery or the grid. The Tesla Battery is what optimizes our systems energy usage. Duke Energy also provided a significant rebate when our system was operating, if you sign up for specific rate plan that allows them to export our excess solar energy back in the grid for Duke Energy’s use. We're very pleased with 8MSolar.”

“I had an excellent experience with 8Msolar - team that installed my solar panels. They were professional, knowledgeable, and responsive throughout the entire process and even after the installation was completed. The entire team was absolutely outstanding. They took the time to answer all my questions, kept me informed every step of the way, and made sure everything was done correctly. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction were outstanding. The quality of their work and their attention to detail exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them to anyone considering solar panel installation. Thank you for such an exceptional job!”

“8M installed a 7.2kw solar panel system at our home in June 2026. I select 8M from a set of 5 proposals for the project. It turned out to be a good decision. Their sales terms are fair and do not place all of the risk on the buyer. Their process was well thought out, thorough, and the communication and follow up were excellent. Their installation crew was professional, easy to work with, and cleaned up thoroughly after their 1 day. Job turnaround was pretty good as well- I made the contract on April 27th, the installation started and ended on May 28th, and the system was accepted by the electric utility and activated on June 9th. The solar system was one of the easiest and most seamless project I've done as a homeowner, and I'd chalk that up to 8M's experience and well honed process. I highly recommend consideration of 8M Solar for solar panel installation projects.”

“We had an excellent experience with 8M Solar. The crew was prompt, efficient, pleasant and very informative. They were easy to work with and kept us informed as to how to use the system. They made it clear how the reimbursement worked with Duke Energy and Tesla. We were very pleased with the system and the installation.”

“I recently had my solar system installed by 8M Solar, and I’m very happy with the entire experience. Their work was extremely accurate, clean, and professional—even after the installation, everything looked well-finished and tidy. A special mention goes to Rana, my project coordinator, who was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the process. He patiently answered all my questions and guided me through every step, including helping revise the system design when my HOA didn’t approve panels on the front side of my house. Even though this change reduced my generation capacity by about 30%, 8M Solar supported me fully and found the best possible alternative. Overall, I highly recommend 8M Solar for their technical expertise, attention to detail, and customer-focused service.”

“Getting solar panels was a big decision with lots of options, and 8MSolar walked us through every step of the way. The greatest strength of 8MSolar is their employees. Everyone that we worked with was both effective and friendly. It's easy to get one or the other, but to be both effective and friendly is rare. And for all of the employees we worked with to have both characteristics is exemplary. We highly recommend 8MSolar, and we are thoroughly enjoying our solar system.”
