Floor Coverings International of Clear Lake

Floor Coverings International of Clear Lake runs a flooring store and installation service from League City, Texas. Preston owns the outfit and meets homeowners at their properties to review options for tile along with hardwood, carpet, vinyl and laminate. The business handles full replacements, new installs in bedrooms and kitchens, and smaller jobs like stair runners or padding swaps. Crews cover commercial spaces too when needed.

Homeowners describe projects that include swapping old carpet for hardwood in bedrooms and closets, laying luxury vinyl across office walkways and conference rooms, fitting wood-look tile in master suites, and installing carpet in multiple upstairs rooms plus landings. Omar often leads the crews on site with help from Francisco and others, while Preston checks progress. Jobs finish with furniture moved back in place, clean transitions and floors that line up with existing work.

The team answers calls and website requests the same day or next, brings samples for in-home checks and sticks to customer timelines without extra fees for schedule changes. Preston keeps costs down by showing budget-friendly choices first and works in League City plus nearby areas. Installs often wrap in one day, with the owner dropping by to oversee details and answer questions on the spot.

Reviews give the company top marks across more than twenty accounts for straightforward talks, crews that finish on time and careful handling of homes during work. Common notes cover solid layout and cuts on tile and wood jobs, quick cleanups and results that hold up well.

“We had an amazing experience with Preston and host team at Floor Coverings International. From the initial in home visit, we knew that this company was different. No rushing to make a choice, no hard sales pitch, Preston really took the time to understand the needs of our family and our home. He not only had the samples for us to see in person, but many photos of the same floor in other customers’ homes and a virtual tool to see what it would look like in ours. Pricing was great and he made it very easy to say YES! From the time we signed the agreement it was only a few days before our flooring was ready to install. The installation team was the absolute best! They were so respectful of us, our home and our neighbors. From moving our furniture, leveling the foundation, installing the underpayment and flooring, to moving everything back and cleaning up after themselves. Yes, I said they cleaned up after, which we have not always had with other vendors who have worked on and around our home. Oh and they took the time to remove our toilet and pedestal sink in the bathroom rather than just installing around them so we have a seamless look. Pardon the mess in my before photos, but I w”

“Preston, Francisco, Omar and their crew were fantastic. They were able to fit me in their really busy schedule and did 4 bedrooms for us. Truly the best of flooring experts out there!”

“Preston and his team at Floor Coverings International of Clear Lake did a tremendous job of installing hardwood flooring in our bedroom and closet! Their work was tremendous and very professionally done! Omar is the best! They truly care about what they do and in going the extra mile to ensure the job is done right! The finished product exceeded our expectations. They also took great care in moving our furniture in and out in order to install the wood flooring. You couldn’t have a better company to work with and install your floors!”

“Floor coverings International did absolutely fantastic job replacing old flooring in our commercial office. We had carpets replaced in all of our offices and luxury vinyl in the walkways and conference room. Preston and his team were very professional and accommodating to our schedule. I couldn't recommend them enough!”

“We were extremely impressed with this company from start to finish. Their communication was clear and consistent, they worked diligently to bring our vision to life, and they conducted themselves with the utmost professionalism. The finished floors look amazing, and the entire experience was a pleasure. We truly feel like we gained not just a flooring company, but a friendship. We’re incredibly grateful and highly recommend them!”

“I recently had a flooring installation project completed, and I was genuinely impressed with the entire process. Omar was the foreman and project lead, and Preston, the owner, handled the lead quality-control side of things. Both of them were straightforward, professional, and transparent from start to finish. There was no sales-game nonsense, no confusion about what was happening, and no feeling like I had to chase anyone down to make sure the job was being done right. The quality of the installation was excellent. The crew clearly took care with the details — the layout, cuts, transitions, and overall finish all looked clean and well thought out. They treated the project like it mattered, and that showed in the final result. I’ve had several home projects completed recently, and this is the only one that finished the agreed scope on time and did not require additional visits to fix, complete, or explain anything after the fact. That alone separates them from a lot of contractors. Omar did a great job leading the work on site, and Preston’s involvement on quality control gave me confidence that the project was being watched closely and handled the right way. I would absolutely”

“Preston and Floor Coverings Int. were wonderful to work with! They were shockingly prompt in getting back to me after I filled out the convenient project query on their website. And were excited and flexible in helping figure out my specific project- repurposing a vintage rug into stair runners. They had an opening the very next day to come out and complete install. They were fast, efficient, clean, and professional and I would recommend working with them for your flooring projects.”

“Preston worked with me quickly and kept me on budget. I scheduled an appointment and he came out with great service and selection I could see in my home. I had a quick turnaround time and the install with removal of the old carpet was done in a single day. My home is now refreshed and looks amazing. The color of the new carpet looks better than I could have imagined. Best of all Preston and his crew are here local in League City. Supporting a local business is great and the surrounding areas. I would use them again for any of my home flooring needs. Thank you again, great job!!”

“We couldn't be happier with the job that Preston and his crew did. They were on time, friendly, courteous, and explained everything they were doing. I would gladly recommend them to anyone.”

“I had an outstanding experience with Floor Coverings International from start to finish! Preston was absolutely amazing. His knowledge, professionalism, honesty, and exceptional customer service made the entire process stress-free. He took the time to answer all of my questions, provided great recommendations, and never made me feel pressured. Omar did an incredible job managing the installation process. The installation team was prompt, efficient, respectful of my home, and paid close attention to every detail. They removed and reinstalled the carpet in my master bedroom, game room, and two hallways, and the finished product looks fantastic. They even moved my entire bedroom set and returned every piece to its proper place, which I truly appreciated. What impressed me even more was Omar’s willingness to go above and beyond. He noticed a broken piece on my headboard that had been damaged before they arrived and took the time to fix it without hesitation and did not charge me, also he provided the same gesture to my flooring upstairs. That level of care and customer service is hard to find these days. Their pricing was also very competitive and significantly better than several o”

“Preston Dumas, the owner of Floor Coverings International-Clear Lake, is a customer-centric professional. He is very courteous and a great communicator. He came to my home with a myriad of flooring samples and explained all the available flooring options for my particular needs. He didn't try to sell me on the most expensive items and, in fact, the option I chose was on the lower end of the price range. My new flooring was ordered and installed within a week. The team, Omar, Francisco Sr. and Francisco Jr., were able to remove the old carpet and replace with new pad and carpet in one afternoon; 2 bedrooms with walk-in closets, upstairs landing and staircase with landing. They are hard-working, efficient, and even moved all the heavy furniture around in order to complete the job. This company is competitively priced and I would happily recommend Floor Covering International for all of your future flooring needs. YOU WON'T BE SORRY!”

“Preston and his crew did a wonderful job on our floors. They were easy to work with, did a beautiful job on the floors, and were respectful and careful with our home. The tile work is truly a work of art. Joe and Brett are certainly talented craftsmen. They matched the new tile up with the existing floor perfectly. I would highly recommend them for any flooring needs. We will enjoy our new flooring for many years to come. Thank you.”

“I recently had vinyl flooring installed in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Three professionals arrived on time, were courteous, and worked efficiently from start to finish. Their craftsmanship was excellent, and the finished floor looks beautiful. What impressed me the most was the owner's dedication. He stopped by several times throughout the project to supervise the work, answer questions, and make sure everything was completed to a high standard before the team left. That level of customer service is hard to find. The price was very reasonable for the quality of work provided. I am extremely happy with my new floor and would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for professional, reliable, and high-quality flooring installation.”

“Preston was truly amazing. He helped my family when we needed carpet padding replacement and we couldn’t find anyone else to help without charging ridiculous prices. He not only gave the padding to us for no charge he delivered it to our home. It was also his highest quality padding. In a world where everyone is out for themselves and to make any dollar they can, this experience was amazing and unexpected. I can not recommend them enough. I will always use this company for any flooring needs and refer them to everyone I can. Great man, great attitude, great business practices.”
