Mid-Tex of Midland Inc

Mid-Tex of Midland Inc runs a flooring store and tile contractor operation out of Midland, Texas. They maintain a showroom at 5206 W Wadley Ave that stocks tile, carpet, wood flooring and countertops for both homes and offices, and they perform installations as a commercial general contractor. Paul Renz oversees the work. The business stays open Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm and on Saturdays, serving customers across the Permian Basin area.

Homeowners have brought them in for full-home tile replacements, engineered hardwood in living rooms and bedrooms, large ceramic tile throughout main living spaces, bathroom tile updates, carpet installations, and LVT flooring. Reviewers note staff members such as Dillon helping select materials that fit budgets, Irma handling insurance paperwork and site measurements, and installers including Oscar, Ricky and Luis completing jobs with clean results. Other projects involved Brock or Marty locating carpet options and finishing wood floor installs on the same day after customers handled demolition themselves.

They schedule measurement visits and provide quotes after site checks, with some customers reporting the need to call back when appointments slip. Staff answer questions by text or in person, keep projects on track within set budgets, and adjust timing around household schedules. Install crews arrive on time, work neatly, and finish efficiently, though a handful of reviews mention delays in follow-up or the need to request corrections on finished work.

Feedback includes a Google rating of 3.8 along with praise for staff knowledge during material selection and measurement steps. Recurring comments cover helpful responses to questions, neat and timely installs by named technicians, and competitive pricing, while a smaller number of reviews point to occasional scheduling lapses or uneven tile results that required later attention.

“We engaged with Mid-Tex of Midland on several occasions over a 5-year period to purchase and install flooring and other tile work in our home. We found their sales staff, in particular Dillon Renz, to be extremely helpful, attentive, patient, and kind while my wife considered multiple flooring types, textures, colors, materials, and was very knowledgeable when answering questions about process and execution of the materials delivery and installation. Ultimately we settled on engineered hardwood for both our front living/dining room and our master bedroom. We settled on very large ceramic tile for our flooring throughout the rest of our home, and various bathroom tiles for our hall bath and master bathroom that were all installed efficiently, professionally, and accurately. At Dillon’s recommendation, we decided to use a dustless demo service by one of their business partners for the demo of our existing tile. This was wonderful and we highly recommend this service. We have been overjoyed with the outcome of our home and believe upgrading these areas have created huge value and pride in our home. We highly recommend working with Mid-Tex of Midland for flooring and tile choices.”

“Irma was amazing at helping get the info for insurance, the flooring installation scheduled and answering any and all questions we had. Oscar and Ricky did an amazing job on my wood floor install. Very friendly, polite and knowledgeable. I would definitely use and recommend MidTex anytime”

“Had ana amazing experience and the lady at the front desk was very helpful with little information I had for my pickup lol & the gentleman who helps load was more then helpful! Wish I got his name, younger man with glasses working the forklift! Went up and beyond trying to makesure everything was secured before I left! Great experience! Highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟”

“My husband and I purchased a house last year and wanted to do tile throughout. Irma C. helped us the minute I walked into the store for the first time. Irma came to our house to ensure measurements were correct, would answer my texts when I had questions, and was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the whole process . Irma allowed us to take some samples home, which was so helpful - we picked the perfect tile and couldn’t be happier! Irma is truly one of a kind and provided fantastic customer service to us. Mid-Tex has a great selection of tile, and being able to take home samples was great! I can’t recommend this store - and Irma - enough! We’ll definitely be back for all our tile needs!”

“Just got our floor done by Midtex. Our salesman Dillon was phenomenal. We weren’t sure about which floor type would best suit our needs. He was knowledgeable and helped point us in the right direction all while keeping our budget in mind. I can’t express how great it was to work with this company. We have many renovation plans in the future and I will definitely be coming back. Customer service like this is hard to come by these days. Thank you Dillon at Midtex!!!!”

“They will help you find carpet but when it's time for the appointment, to come out and measure and get the quote you will have to call multiple times to get them to come to the appointment that was set and beg for the quote”

“I had Mid-Tex install wood floors in my home. They were very responsive. Sent contractor to measure flooring. We did the demo work but when they came to install, they were efficient, clean and courteous. In and out. Project done same day. Have not had issue with the quality of wood floors. Beautiful. It’s been over two years.”

“Wonderful experience! The staff was knowledgeable and their products were high quality. They were flexible and worked with our schedule. Communication was wonderful as well. The floor installer Oscar was hands down the best! He was nice, respectful, on-time and kept the area super clean! He did a great job laying our LVT, very talented! He had a great choice of music too while he installed. :)”

“Marty and the whole team at Mid-Tex were professional, responsive, and kept their word - sticking to our budget for the install. We called a dozen places looking for a carpet that was within our budget, and Marty measured and found carpet that fit both our home and budget. Their price was very competitive, and they worked around our busy life schedule for the install. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for carpet or any flooring needs! Dan H. Midland TX”

“The entire team at Mid-Tex was a pleasure to work with! From the minute we walked in the door we were greeted with a friendly & welcoming smile. We were looking to replace flooring throughout our home & were shown several options of flooring for our home. They were patient, thorough, and helpful when it came to helping me make a decision. At the point of install the team was professional & neat.”

“Have shopped around for floor at many local places and ended up spending my money at Midtex because Dillon was nice & helpful. Thank you so much for the awesome customer service. Will definitely always recommend this company!!!”

“I was very pleased with working with Dillon Renz. He was on time to measure and gave me a quick estimate. The installers were professional and made sure the work was up to my standard. I will definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to everyone!”

“The installer did a terrible job. Left big open gabs and big openings on the doorways and did not fold the carpet where the tile and carpet met. I called to have them fix it and they finally send someone after about 3 months. He stated he could fix the carpet but nothing eles. It would cost us to have him redo the gabs and horrible gabs by the doorways. I do not recommend them. I would recommend Yates flooring. They do alot better job, and care about their work and business.”

“MidTex of MIdland is a fantastic contractor and supplier of high quality custom flooring. My wife and I have built one house and remodeled two houses with MidTex as our flooring and bathroom contractor. They are incredibly professional and knowledgeable, use quality subs and hire quality people, and the get the job done on time. Paul Renz runs a tight ship and keeps the project on track! I highly recommend MidTex to anyone considering construction of a new home or a remodel.”

“Terrible! I called & asked them to come to my home to give me an estimate. We agreed on a date & time. On the day of my appointment, I left work and went home to wait on Mid-Tex to arrive. After 25 minutes of no one showing up I called their office and was told that the representative that was supposed to come measure FORGOT & not only that she lost all my information as well! So I had to give my name, phone, and address again and she said she would come out. She did show up about 20 minutes later. She measured and told me she would have a price in a few hours. That was over a week ago. Now I can’t reach her. When I call their office, no one can give me a price, but that particular representative. Ive left two messages for her and haven’t received a call back. Very unprofessional!”

“Nice people. Staff is very helpful and the price is right.”

“Tile was crooked and uneven. I had to point it out and after that it had to get pulled up and reinstalled. After all that the color of the grout didn't dry evenly so some areas are darker, and they didnt clean up properly. There was dried grout on the walls and cabinets.”

“I had the pleasure of working with Brock and he did an outstanding job. Highly recommend these guys!”

“I used Dylan and his team, I was very impressed with their hard work and efficiency. I would highly recommend them.”

“Perfect! They had what I needed when I needed it and at a price I could afford. Installation could not have gone better! Thank you Luis and Joey!! Tammie”
