Cutting Edge Tree Service

Cutting Edge Tree Service handles tree work in Arlington, TX. The company is owned and operated by Charlie McMullin, a retired firefighter who spent more than twenty years on the fire department before starting the business seventeen years ago. Services include tree removal, trimming, stump grinding and removal, pruning, emergency calls, and commercial tree work across the DFW metro area. The outfit stays licensed and insured since 2010 with two million dollars in general liability coverage plus workers compensation, and it maintains twenty four hour emergency response as a family owned operation.

Customers report jobs that range from taking down large dead trees threatening homes to grinding stumps after removal and trimming back overgrown branches on multiple oaks or pines. Crews led at times by Rodrigo have handled brush clearing, full yard transformations that include rock garden work near pools, and re sodding after tree projects. Reviewers note that crews cut trees hanging over streets or houses, removed roots causing foundation issues, and left properties free of debris even when working in tight spaces or extreme heat.

The company schedules appointments quickly after initial contact and confirms arrival times in advance. Crews show up on time, finish jobs the same day in many cases, and keep homeowners updated throughout the process. Pricing comes in below other estimates while covering extra trees or branches not listed in the original scope. Service covers the broader Dallas Fort Worth region with same day responses possible for urgent requests and careful handling of surrounding plants or lawns during each visit.

The business holds a five star Google rating drawn from two hundred sixty nine reviews. Common points raised include consistent cleanup that leaves yards looking untouched, fair costs for the scale of work performed, and crews that finish faster than expected while staying polite on site.

“Cutting Edge tree service in Midlothian Tx showed up yesterday like a bunch of pros and spent am entire day in the heat completely transforming a very overgrown yard and put in a rock garden by the pool at a very reasonable price. We are very pleased with the results and highly recommend this company”

“Charlie and his team led by Rodrigo are the best! We have used them about 4 or 5 times now, recommending them to family and friends too. They have done jobs such as basic tree trimming, brush trimming, tree removal and stump grinding, as well as re-sodding our entire front yard. They just did a huge job for us at our new property trimming back 10+ tall trees to be compliant with our home insurance, and they did the job perfectly. And after they were done, they cleaned up like nothing even happened. Could not recommend Charlie enough, he is a delight to work with and talk to, and he makes sure you are completely satisfied with the job before they leave. Can’t beat the price either. Give Charlie a call!”

“Charlie and his crew did a fantastic job in my yard. They cut all the trees that were hanging over the street and on my house. They cleaned up better than I clean up and they finished in about four hours. I highly recommend Charlie and his team to work on your trees. They were reasonably priced for all the work that they did. Thanks again, Charlie. John Garcia”

“Charley was very helpful working with me on getting a big tree down in my backyard. Him and his crew brought it down in record time. He beat other estimates by several hundred dollars and cut more trees down than originally mentioned! Thank you for all your help!”

“Charlie and Crew came out and cut down 2 pine trees for me as well as grinding the stumps down. They did a great job and even cleaned up the dead branches on the other trees. I asked them to leave the big logs but they chipped up the small branches and took that with them. Highly recommend.”

“Had a large tree in the front yard that needed to come down. Charlie and his crew provided excellent service all the way around at a very reasonable cost. I highly recommend them and I will definitely use them again!”

“Charlie was extremely professional from the first quote, setting the appointment, reconfirming the day before & showing up exactly on time. His crew was hard working, very polite & respectful of the property. This huge tree was taken down & hauled off in one day with no debris left behind. Definitely recommend to friends & family and will use them again for any future tree services.”

“WOW!! From the first call, to the quote, to the tree and brush removal, it was exactly what service should be. Charlie was professional and his crew was on time and got the job done while I took a short nap. We are selling our house and needed this tree taken care of ASAP before it pulled down the rest of our trees. Painless experience and very fair pricing. There's so much room for activities! Thank you, Charlie and all of the Cutting Edge crew! I have a lot more trees if ya'll want to come back!”

“They do greatly work with reasonable pricing. Furthermore, Charlie communicated about their availability and arrival time. and kept me informed. most importantly the trees looked great and they did an excellent clean up job. Highly recommend.”

“This review is a bit delayed, only because I have been busy. I contacted Cutting Edge Tree Services, on behalf of my son, through ‘Angi’, on Tuesday, 2/3/25. Charlie reached out to me, I told him my son needed a very large but dead tree to be cut down and the stump to be grinded out. He came out later that day, was very polite, respectful (I only say that as most men doing business with women, are not), he looked over the tree, we negotiated a fair price (with my son on the phone) and he said I would be his last job the following day & he would text me when they were on the way. On Wednesday, I got a text around 3pm, his crew arrived and then Charlie arrived and everyone got to work. It was completely amazing how quickly his crew got this large, dead tree down, loaded in their trailer, they cleaned up the mess and were gone in about 50minutes. If you are in need of a tree removed, or maybe pruning of your trees, Charlie & his crew are the ones you want doing the job! I promise they will not let you down in service or politeness. Thank you again Charlie! It was a pleasure meeting you!”

“Charlie and his crew provided excellent communication and service. I reached out to Charlie to get an estimate. His prices were fair and he was able to get us scheduled. He and his crew showed up when promised, got to work, and cleaned up when they were finished. I would highly recommend Cutting Edge Tree Service to anyone”

“Charlie and his crew did an amazing job. They were much faster than expected and they left my backyard as clean as they found it. I was also pleasantly surprised by the price, I also expected that too much higher. I have a lot of plants and they were very careful with every Single one of them. You can’t even see where the tree was. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! If you need any tree service, this is the place to go. Amazing job, Charlie.”

“If you need your trees trimmed this who to call! We had 5 big oak trees trimmed and one very large one removed. They did and excellent job very quickly. They trimmed, cut, removed and cleaned up perfectly. I would never let anyone else do the job.”

“I thought the job I needed completed was nearly impossible. Not only did they just complete the job, it was done better than I could ever imagine and wish for. They also completed it quicker than I thought possible and they were great people and easy to communicate with, and to top it off it was all done for a really good price! Highly recommend!”

“Reasonable price, great service and very kind. Highly recommended. Also cut up some of my tree branches removed for me for firewood next year.”

“Cutting Edge did a fantastic job in a difficult, small area for a tree removal at a reasonable price! Charlie and his crew were prompt and professional from the beginning. I get so many guys dropping off cards for tree work in my mail box but most aren't licensed or insured. Cutting Edge is, so I was able to rest easier about having this dangerous work completed on my property. I would recommend Cutting Edge to anyone looking for tree removal, disposal or trimming!”

“Charlie and his guys do a great job. This is our 2nd time utilizing them to help manage our 3 Mulberrys and 1 oak tree. The clean up always looks great while still maintaining shade for our little ones who play outside. 🫶 fair pricing highly recommend.”

“Cutting Edge Tree Service was very reasonable and affordable. Charlie was professional and scheduled an appointment quickly. They removed a big tree that roots were starting to cause issues for my home. I highly recommend them 10/10”
