“I called Arbor Oaks Tree Professionals based on an advertisement from one of the circulars we get every week. I called to inquire about a big maple in our back yard that had not leafed out. John, the owner, came out the next day and took a look at the tree - turns out it had an incurable fungal disease and needed to come down. After discussing the process by which this would take place, we also looked at the other trees in the yard. Most were OK, but each had its small issues that could be remediated with the help of a professional. One, for example, was infiltrated by a neighbor's tree and needed help reaching the sun. Another had girdling roots, and all needed to be cleaned up and shaped. Additionally all needed the root flares exposed from the sod that had grown around over the years. John was able to get a crew here the very next day to work on taking the big maple down and clean up the trees. The crew arrived at 10, not too early but right on time, and worked diligently all day. By the end of the day, the 35-foot maple was in pieces on the truck, with no damage to surrounding trees, our lawn, or our brand-new patio wall or bricks. “Today we hired another tree company to remove a pine tree that Arbor Oaks killed 2 years ago during a simple trimming. We paid Arbor Oaks for the trimming, and John refused to refund money due to the damage even though he admitted his crew had messed up and killed the tree. He also said he would take care of the removal of the tree for us, but of course we never heard back from him. I would highly caution using Arbor Oaks to anyone who cares about their trees. They are not qualified! We are using Brent’s Tree Service from now on.”

“DO NOT USE ARBOR OAKS. Buyer Beware: Crew broke external drain pipe off our house wall/siding while removing tree limbs. John was going to do a half-way fix and glue another piece of pipe over it instead of fixing it properly. Thankfully, I went to help him and realized what he was doing and offered to help him fix it properly. I even gave him a head lamp and (foolishly) paid him in advance for the remaining work/treatment. Once he had that money he never returned, didn’t return calls, and never completed the agreed upon labor. Very disappointing.”

“Called the owner, John, to come check out a tree in our backyard that has seen better days. He came out within a day to assess and provide a quote for whatever he thought the tree needed and, to our delight, he said he thought it still had life in it even after the winter storm. The tree was an Arizona Ash. Very large. We had several different companies do the same, but John’s quote was very reasonably priced (not the cheapest but close) and he seemed very professional during the initial visit. He said he had another job cancel on him that same day so he could get a crew over right away. Wow! No waiting list, no scheduling two weeks out. Right away service. The crew was out for two days cleaning up our tree and the area behind our back fence. On the second day, the crew asked us several times for our input on the work they were doing and seemed very invested in our satisfaction. One of the best lawn maintenance crews I have ever dealt with. John gets an A+ for his assessment and professionalism, but his crew gets an A++ for their dedication to customer service and quality of work. Great job!”

He provided a competitive and reasonable quote. The work was completed in a timely manner & as quoted. Clean up was done as part of the process. Immediately afterwards, the most recent hail storm with gusting winds came through & blew over our front small tree. John and his crew was able to professionally prepare the hole for the tree for replanting and prepared the tree itself for further growth after replanting. “Several years ago, I had the fine people from Arbor Oaks Tree Professionals come out to my house after using a larger, well-known Austin-based tree service.
