Steve's stump grinding

Steve's Stump Grinding operates out of Highlands, TX and handles stump grinding along with related tree work such as limb removal after storms. Steve runs the operation and takes on jobs that involve grinding stumps down well below ground level along with the roots so the surface stays level for grass to grow back. His crew also hauls away extra limbs and debris when the work is done. Reviewers note the business reaches backyards that need only a three foot wide path for the grinder.

Customers call on Steve's Stump Grinding for single stumps or batches up to eight at once, including large ones from Water Oak, Italian Cypress, and Hackberry trees. Steve and his son have handled storm damage by cutting and removing downed limbs for homeowners who needed quick help. They grind the stumps completely, rake the area clean, and leave the yard in better shape than they found it. One job that started as two small annoying stumps ended with them gone in about an hour.

Steve keeps in touch when schedules shift because of rain and makes sure the work does not interrupt customers during their day. He quotes fair prices up front, shows up on time or even early, and stays until the cleanup meets the homeowner's approval. The crew works in the Highlands area and nearby spots around Houston, staying professional and courteous even on hot days while the customer stays out of the way.

Reviewers keep coming back to the same points about fair pricing, solid communication, punctuality, and thorough cleanup after every job. The Google rating sits at 5 from 35 reviews. DIRT Score 4.6 from 35 reviews on Finds.

“I had three stumps that Steve ground down for me and he did a great job but there are other reasons that I would recommend him. He charges a fair price, does what he says, and his communication is excellent. I will definitely use him again, oh and also he shows up on time!!”

“This is a great company to use. They came out pretty quickly, were courteous and professional, and did a fantastic job. If I ever need a tree stump taken care of in the future or I know anyone that does, Steve’s Stump Grinding is who I’m using or referring!”

“Steve is a great guy who knows his Stump grinding very well! He is honest and very dependable and I would recommend him for your Stump grinding jobs! Reasonable prices as well! Thank you Steve 😊 Likeable guy!”

“Outstanding business! Steve is a great guy and even better businessman. He takes his time to make sure that the entire stump and roots are completely removed well below ground level ensuring a level surface once the grass grows back. Afterwards, he rakes and cleans up the surrounding area leaving it in better shape than he found it. Top notch work!”

“07/21/2024 I’m updating my review. I couldn’t figure out how to give another review, so I’m updating my own. What a wonderful man he is. I called him for help and his son and a friend came out to remove some limbs for this old woman. The storm took off my shingles and many limbs were down. What a professional, caring, and nice person this company is. If I could I’d give him a 10 again. I highly recommend them and will, no doubt, use the again. Oh, by the way his son is a sweetheart and I thank you all so much. God bless you and your family. Sincerely with all my heart, Cookie Vrana. If I could give a 10 I would. Very reliable, on time, courteous, understanding, professional and very likable. They removed bushes and unwanted tree trimmings from the tree falling when we had that last storm. I’d recommend them for this service. Thank you for all you did. Cookie Vrana”

“I found Steve's Stump Grinding on GoogleMaps. I showed Steve the 2 stumps I wanted ground down. They weren't that big, but they were annoying. Steve made tham disappear for his $250 local job minimum. He was in and out in about an hour and totally worth it. Highly recommend.”

“Steve goes the extra mile towards customer satisfaction. We had him take out two massive Water Oak tree stumps as well a huge Italian Cypress stump and a Hackberry stump. Well satisfied with all the above services provided. His Grinder only needs a three foot wide access. Backyards are easily reached if required. He is located in Highlands Tx.”

“I highly recommend Steve. Whether I've had 1 stump or 8 on a job that needed to be ground down, Steve has always given me a fair deal and has always done the job exactly as promised. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“What an awesome service! Very punctual and professional³. While I lounged on the couch in the cool A/C, these guys got hot and dirty in the Houston heat and ground down some bad stumps, solving the problem areas I had to avoid when mowing the grass and playing with Fifi, my accident-prone toy poodle. Thanks, Steve!”
