Buchanan Tree Service, LLC

Buchanan Tree Service, LLC handles tree work out of Schertz, Texas, with Jordan running the crew. They take on trimming, full removals, storm cleanup, and related jobs across the San Antonio area. Jordan shows up himself for estimates on most calls, and the team covers everything from single backyard trees to larger HOA projects like lifting canopies or clearing debris after weather hits. Services stay focused on safe cuts, hauling away what comes down, and handling tight spots near houses or utilities without extra damage.

Customers call them in for oak trimming that opens up light and air, red oak removals right next to pools or fences, and palm work that reaches 50 feet high. One job involved lowering big limbs by rope over a shed and chipping everything the same day. Another had the crew thin live oaks while keeping an eye on nearby Japanese maples and finishing with a clean yard. Reviews mention sick trees taken down safely over roofs, stumps ground out, ball moss cleared, and branches dropped exactly where they needed to land so nothing else got hit.

Jordan answers inquiries fast, often the same day, and sends written quotes that the crew sticks to. The team shows up on time, works through long days when needed, and keeps neighbors updated on the schedule. Pricing comes in fair compared to others who bid the same work, and they handle small yards or tight access without charging extra for the hassle. Service stays local to San Antonio spots, with crews that clean up sawdust and leaves before they leave so the next contractor or homeowner sees nothing but the finished trees.

Ratings stay high across dozens of jobs, with people noting the crew stays polite, efficient, and thorough on cleanup every time. Repeat comments cover quick estimates, careful work around homes and pools, and results that last without follow-up fixes. DIRT Score 4.4 from 58 reviews on Finds.

“Jordan and his crew at Buchanan Tree Service did an excellent job trimming my two oak trees. They were professional, worked efficiently, sealed all the cuts, and cleaned up all the debris before leaving. Pricing was fair and straightforward. I’ve used them before and will continue to trust them with my tree care. Highly recommend!! And apologies for the after pics, there was a lot of sun!”

“We used Buchanan Tree Service to lift and thin our two live oaks in the front. We are very pleased. . Jordan and his crew were easy to get a free estimate from, punctual, professional, cleaned up after themselves, and were friendly! We highly recommend their affordable and quality services.”

“Jordan Buchanan Tree Service I cannot say enough great things about Jordan Buchanan Tree Service. Jordan came out to do the estimate himself, he was friendly knowledgable and respectful. We had a very large Red Oak in a very bad spot (15 feet from the house, 15 feet from our fence, 20 feet from the utility box for our street, and 1 foot from the pool). The Red Oak was about to completely destroy our pool. Jordan and his team came to our rescue. Jordan and his guys worked like a well-oiled machine, they were efficient and hard workers. Because the area they had to work in was so small they had to lower each large branch down with ropes. Jordan and his guys were precise, careful, and always had a mind for safety. They were respectful of our home, fence, and pool. Everyone wore safety helmets, they were conscious of each others locations, and the person in the tree was double roped in at all times. They had an unbelievable wood chipper and took care of all the trimmings on the property and hauled away all the lumber for us. Jordan even took a special request from me and cut us a lovely slice from the Red Oak so we could turn it into a table. Jordan and his team also cleaned up th”

“Jordan and his crew did an excellent job removing my sick red oak tree. They took the tree down safely over my home and cleaned up as if nothing ever happened. Thanks for a great job! -E”

“Jordan recently completed trimming 300 palm trees for our HOA (20ft-50ft height). From the first inquiry, he was very responsive, professional and as work began he kept us updated with the work schedule and potential issues. He took all precautions to prevent any damage to vehicles and homes next to trees, and happily reported zero incidents. His clean up crew picked up leaves and debris after each tree, leaving community clean each day they worked on. Many homeowners were left very pleased with the work and timeliness. I recommend his services to anyone looking for any similar type of work. Below is one of before images and after image taken on a very windy day..”

“Bill Greaves referred me to Buchanan Tree Services. Isiah and his crew did a great job for us. This crew was pleasant, friendly and professional. One of our trees was near an established hedge in a small yard. This crew managed to drop the branches and trunk right where they wouldn't damage our Japenese Maples. Timely, efficient and safe.”

“I don't often leave reviews but this was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a service delivery company. I've had my trees done many times and they've never looked this good! Jordan has a passion for making trees look their best and its evident from the first time you meet him. Jordan came to the house and provided us with a free estimate. The estimate was in the middle of all of the other estimates we received but it was definitely the most thorough. Jordan listened to what we wanted and then offered his own feedback on what might look the best based on the look we were trying to achieve and what was best for the health of the trees. We took his recommendations and the results were outstanding! You can tell Jordan runs the company when you talk to him so I wasn't expecting him to be out there doing the work ... but he was! He was there every step of the way with the rest of his team to make sure the job got done right. I'm not sure if he helps out on all his jobs but rest assured that the job will be done right. You can tell his team respects him and has adopted his passion for the business. We'll be using Buchanan Tree Service from now on any time the trees need any”

“Highly recommend Buchanan Tree Service. Jordan responded to my inquiry quickly and professionally. They are punctual. I had some specific requests for the job I had them do recently and they listened carefully. They did an outstanding job getting it done. They left no mess after the job was done. In fact, the next day I had a couple different contractors come out for estimates on a different project and they both commented on how good the trees looked having been recently trimmed. Bottom line, if I have any more tree jobs in San Antonio I’m going straight back to Buchanan tree service.”

“I have had several tree services out through the years for various tasks, however Jordan’s is by far the best I’ve ever had to my home. I really can’t say enough good things about his service. Jordan personally came to my house and was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and respectful. You could tell that he uses care and patience with everything and to him it’s not “just another job”. His team arrived on the agreed day and they worked like a well oiled machine. They asked if they could take down some of my fence to do the job but they put it back in place expertly and you couldn’t tell it had been moved and replaced. They all worked quickly and did everything I asked and checked in with me to make sure everything was done exactly how I wanted. They did stump removal and grinding and they were amazing! They were very efficient and careful as they worked to remove the tree. You can tell this team take pride in their work!!! I will never hire another tree service again and Jordan will be getting all of my business from now on! If you are on the fence about him, I can’t encourage you strongly enough to hire him!!”

“Jordan and his crew were great! They were on time and worked diligently to remove trees. I really appreciate all their help in protecting our neighbor's home by removing the trees. They were so respectful and courteous. Some of the debris even got in our pool and they cleaned it out. I highly recommend Buchanan and will hire them again. Thank you Jordan and your crew for the great service!”

“We had an excellent experience with this company. Jordan and his crew really know their stuff. We had a large ash tree cut down and other trimmed back. First off, you can't beat their rates. For a highly skilled, insured, and bonded crew, the prices cannot be beat. Second, when I called for a quote, the owner came out himself and took the time to thoroughly inspect and recommend what needed to be cut. Third, they sent a written quote and honored it. Fourth, they were available the following week, no need to wait up to six weeks, as with other companies I called. Fifth, they cleaned up everything, all that's left is some sawdust. Sixth, the crew were respectable to us and our neighbors, since we had branches hanging over their yards. Lastly, the work they did exceed our expectations. What more can you say.”

“Jordan and the Buchanan Tree Service team exceeded my expectations. I have always gone with cheaper, less professional services, and got what I paid for. Buchanan was 5 star, from their responsiveness and communication... to an outrageously quality job that made our house look great protected the health of our trees, and sculpted clean details...for a very reasonable price. Buchanan has a new customer for life. Thanks guys.”

“Thank you Jordan Buchanan and the Tree Team (Santiago, Dervis, & Luis) for providing GREAT tree removal service! Prompt, Polite and Professional service. Great price, too! In the time it took me to go to the bank to get the payment (plus, a couple of errands) I returned to Jordan and his team cleaning up! Wow. Who does that??? Buchanan Tree Service, that's WHO! Sincerely, Elizabeth Martinez”

“We called three different tree service companies. One never returned our call/email. The other took a few days to return our call, which was not a dealbreaker, considering the current pandemic. However, we never heard back from them after receiving a bid. In the end, it worked out for the best. After Googling, I came across Buchanan Tree Service. Jordan responded to my inquiry in less than 15 minutes! We scheduled a time for him to look at the two trees for removal and two palms for trimming. Jordan is a knowledgeable arborist, professional, and customer oriented. His team is punctual and efficient. The job was completed in 1 days time. We were happy with the end result and will continue using Buchanan Tree Service.”

“Jordan has always done an amazing job on our trees. He is very knowledgeable about how to care for them. His team is very thorough and makes sure to clean up completely. We have a lot of oak trees in our yard that require very specific and delicate care, and he is able to get the job done. Recently whad one of our trees fall on our neighbor's house during a storm and he came over the same day and had it taken care of!”

“Jordan was very accomodating with our schedule. Crew was very polite and professional. Did an excellent job with the tree & stump removal, pruning of our other trees. Work was thorough and done with care. Cost was reasonable. Overall experience was great. Even trimmed our neighbor's tree in just short notice. That's how nice he is. Highly recommended.and will use his services again when the need arises.”

“Jordan and his team were incredibly professional and exceeded expectations while working on tree removal and trimming around our home. There were several large trees hanging over our roof and they were able to remove them with no damage to our roof or our home. They cleaned up all branches and left the area clean. Will definitely use them again!”

“I recommend Buchanan Tree Services owned by Jordan Buchanan, can't say enough about their great service. He and his crew put in two almost 12 hour days to help with my oaks and mesquite. This was at literally half the price of other companies. They trimmed, pruned, removed trees and all branches, chopped into firewood, ground down stumps, removed ball moss, shaped the canopy and left the yard clean and beautiful. Highly recommend!”

“Buchanan Tree Service did an exceptional job at a very fair price. Buchanan explained all of our options for the dangerous tree in our backyard and once we settled on one, provided us with an estimate that same day. They communicated very well throughout the process, and when they arrived for work, they were very professional and very efficient. The tree is no longer dangerous and I didn’t overpay like I have for other tree services. I hope I never need to pay a tree service again about a dangerous tree, but if I do, I know I’ll call, and who you should too.”

“Met with Jordan (the owner) at my house to go over some very large oak trees that needed to be trimmed. Two days later he emailed me a quote and the next week he and a few other guys showed up to tackle my oaks. They did a GREAT job and cleaned up very well after cutting and trimming the trees. Very punctual and professional as well. Highly recommended.”
