Palm Professionals Tropical Nursery #1

Palm Professionals Tropical Nursery #1 handles tree service work from Sugar Land, Texas. They run a palm nursery that sells trees to homeowners along with installation, and they carry species such as Sylvester palms, Silver Queen palms, Mule palms, Needle palms, and Sabal palms. Staff members including Christian, Sheila, Wes, Gary, Jose, and Primo meet customers on site to match trees to yard conditions and handle the planting work.

Customers often call after freezes wipe out existing palms and need quick replacements that hold up better in cold. Reviews describe crews arriving on schedule even ahead of storms, planting in tight spaces without damaging sprinklers or other plants, and returning for follow-up checks and fertilization. Technicians like Christian and Wes explain cold tolerance and growth habits on the lot, while install crews finish jobs the same week, leave yards clean, and handle delivery of large specimens at reasonable cost. Some jobs include yearly frond spraying and bark trimming to keep the trees looking neat.

Work stays local around the Houston area with same-week delivery and install options when stock is ready. Reviewers note crews show up on time, answer questions about HOA rules or site limits, and stay in touch after the job for adjustments. Pricing comes up as fair for the size and quality of trees supplied, and the nursery stays open to the public with marked prices and details on each palm.

Most reviews praise the staff knowledge and clean results, though one customer reported delays replacing a sick tree and questions over guarantee coverage after cold weather. Google shows 4.9 from 117 reviews. DIRT Score 4.7 from reviews on Finds.

“Palm Professionals rocked our world. We were able to get large Sylvester Palms, with full canopies, at a reasonable price, with delivery and installation that same week, not to mention a warranty, 2-follow up visits, and they will also service for us going forward, spraying the fronds to winterize them each year and cutting up the bark into an attractive view, similar to a diamond cut. They look great. Thanks, and Enjoy!!!!!”

“The freeze of 2021 killed all of my beautiful palm trees. I saw that Palm Professionals were having a Memorial Day sale, my husband and I went to check them out. We loved that every palm tree was marked with the price, cold tolerance, growth, etc. Christian met us on the lot and helped guide us in making the right selections. We were concerned with spending so much money again, Christian guided us on the best palms for our concerns. The crew showed up as scheduled. I walked the yard with them to show where the palms were to go. There was a huge storm coming, but the guys got it done. They were knowledgeable, courteous, and left my yard spotless, even with all the mud from the rain. Before they left, they went over the care with me. My yard looks beautiful again. I appreciate that there is a one-year guarantee and in 6 weeks they will come back to check the palms and fertilize. So far, I am a happy customer and would recommend Palm Professionals.”

“Palm professionals provided the best experience for us in selecting our silver queen palm. Starting with Sheila spending a lot of time with us to answer our questions to help educate us on each palm we were interested in. Then the coordination with Christian in getting the palm scheduled and installed in the Klein area. The installation crew took extreme care with the palm and our property since they were working in tight spaces. Highly recommended and when we look for palms in the future, we will go back to palm professionals!!”

We love all the palm trees we purchased for them. You get beautiful trees and with outstanding service. Thank you so much for making our yard look so beautiful!!! ❤️”

“When visiting, we spoke with Christian. I gave him a couple of HOA requirements, and questions/concerns. He took the time to give detailed information to address all issues. The location has a great selection of trees. Delivery options were great. Delivery technicians were on time, professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Great job overall.”

“Palm Professionals helped me select the right species of palm, the right specimen, and performed the installation. I highly, highly recommend Palm Professionals - they truly know palms, and are true professionals.”

“Palm UNprofessionals While putting up my Christmas lights yesterday, I was reminded of how incredibly unprofessional these people are. I had to constantly look, up close at the $2200 disaster of a palm tree purchased as one of a pair from Palm “Professionals”. The palm was sick when it showed up (approximately 2 years ago) and that was the best day for it since it has been here. Initially, we called to express our concern and were told “it’s like blonde hair and brown hair”. They “all look a bit different”…”Its fine”. WTH does that even mean? Over 1 year and several pictures sent of the clearly sick palm later they finally agreed to replace the palm. We took to time to go and pick another palm and schedule the installation. Installation day comes, team shows up with new palm on trailer. Instead of installing the new palm they butchered the existing palm. They removed 2 of the 5 trunks and scalped the rest of the tree…WITHOUT our permission or even a discussion with us. I immediately sent an email clearly explaining our confusion and dissatisfaction. NOT ONE WORD of response to date- one year later. I would strongly advise against using this company for anything that yo”

“Excellent service from Palm Professionals, bought 4 palms from them, have a great selection to choose from. Very good follow up on the adjust of the palms to our garden, and open communication and quick response to any doubts or questions we may have. Highly recommended if you are looking for palms to adorn you garden”

“We are very pleased with the Mule, Needle and three Silver Med Fan Cerifera palms we purchased from Palm Professionals Tropical Nursery in Sugar Land, Texas. The professional and knowledgeable advice we received prior to selecting our palms was comforting as we were concerned after the loss of three large Queen palms during the recent artic freeze in Houston. The installation team handled all the plantings very professionally and there was no damage to any of our existing foliage. Thumbs up PPTN!”

“UPDATE: Palm Professionals worked with us to identify new palms that would do better in our environment. They were installed quickly and seem to be acclimating well. Previous Post: Disappointed with our experience. Purchased 4 trees and was confident that with their "Guarantee" that it was a good investment. Unfortunately not. Never received any follow up care visits or the moisture / soil testing tool. Purchased expensive palm protection based on their recommendation when the colder weather was coming. When I asked about the "Guarantee" I was told it didn't cover the cold. Interesting that no one else lost tree's in my neighborhood during the same period. In the end the tree's lost all palms and will likely need to be replaced.”

“Palm Professionals was recommended by a friend for their mule palms that are freeze resistant down to 14 degrees. Installation was professional and it looks great! Thanks!”

“Cristian was knowledgeable and extremely helpful on the sales front! Really couldn’t ask for more. The installation crew was on time and efficient and did a great job cleaning up! Overall, a great experience, and we enjoyed working with everyone! Thank you!”

“We are really happy with the Mule Palm we bought from Palm Professionals Tropical Nursery. Wes Claburn provided very knowledgeable and professional advice which palm to pick as we got concerned because of the recent freeze in Houston. They delivered quickly and installation was professionally done. They came out twice to check on the palm and fertilize it as promised.”

“Wesley was great to work with. We had an old Chinese plum tree that was so dirty that we wanted to replace with a Palm This was our choice. We had our landscaper pick it up today and plant it. We love it. Time for some margaritas.”

“My wife and I wanted to change out the tree in our front yard. Wes was very knowledgeable and helped us pick out a tree to fit our needs. The day of installation they removed the old tree, planted the new one and cleaned up in less than an hour. The tree looks amazing and the installation crew was very professional. Some of the best work we have seen.”

“Christian was very patient with us while we meandered around the lot looking for a palm tree that fit our yard and he helped us pick the right one. He was very thorough, very attentive, and it couldn't have been a better experience. The tree looks fantastic now that it's planted.”

“Wes was very informative and knowledgeable answered all of our questions.Had to wait a bit for the size Texas sable palm we wanted but it was worth the wait.
