“Very frustrating. 😩 I signed up in early May, 2026, for help with brown spots in my backyard, ( see pictures). Couldn’t get appt until 2nd application cycle, but wanted to charge for 8 cycles anyway (after October to next year after winter is over). When a man came out he said he would only do fertilizer, even tho he noticed how green & plush my front yard & part of my back yard( see pictures)I let him know that I had just had fertilizer done a few weeks before. I told him that I needed the brown spots taken care of. He said fertilizer wouldn’t help. He reported that I refused. So I said just cancel my service. I got called from about 10 different people to get me to not cancel & lower rates. I was on a roller coaster with calls. Finally I was offered a complimentary for my hassle, putting down supposedly “peat moss”. That’s when my headache really started. It was “brown mulch”( see pictures). I have the same in my flower bed in the front. They came out without letting me, since my gate stays locked, they TOOK THE HINGES OFF the gate to get in the yard ( without my knowledge; breaking & entering). 😳 This was 7/16/26, but was sent an email claiming to be done 7/21/26. I have (NO ”
“Where do I start. A gentlemen came to my home and offered a $10 service for fertilization and weed control for the first visit. The guy came out the next Monday and fertilized the front and back yard. Now the guy that came didn't introduce himself or speak to me one time while he was on-site. Ontop of that after inspection of what had been done I realized that my driveway and back patio was covered in fertilizer. Now I know when you spread there is always a little but I had to spend 15 to 20 minutes sweeping everything in the grass. The next day due to the lack of service I checked my bank account and I was charged the normal rate of $65. Now, ontop of the fertilization service i had requested for someone to come out and use an aerator on my lawn due to the compact soil density. The person also told me that someone to reach out to schedule. Today I got a text stating they would be at my home tomorrow. I looked at the website as I wanted to request a Monday to be sure I would be home to monitor and there was no option for a specific date only a date range. At this point it's cancel time. I called in to cancel and let me tell you they do everything besides let you cancel. They tried”
“Ken Miller has been servicing our lawn for a few months now and he has consistently shown up as a consummate lawn care professional. Each time he educates me on my lawn and the services he will be providing so we can be well informed. I’m pleased with not only the service that he provides but also the progress of our lawn.”
“Long Story that involved being lied too and chasing money... but the management was nice and addressed my issue. Not a great experience but certainly 2 in management worked to correct things”
“Will never do again! Have had to change professionals several times in a very short period of time the very last professional that I’ve had to deal with tipped themselves, and then the final service that I was due to have the person did not even show up, which is essentially the person that tipped themselves. Professionals and the platforms as well as Customer Service platforms are not cohesive! Got charged a high grass fee with barely any grass! Avoid these larger businesses, they’re overpriced and overhyped and is not worth the money.”
“**Update - I've submitted the information as the response from owner asks and nothing - no call, no response - its a joke. You cant get to a local real person - I've also called the number and spoken to representatives 3 times and all say they will escalate, but no one has reached out. My lawn was green and largely healthy. I water 3x week. Team came out and I pointed out some very minor areas that I wanted a recommendation to fix - they said we can spray some additional fertilizer. This resulted in turning my entire lawn brown. My grass was green and looked like the lawn next door prior to the treatment and they ruined it and I can't get anyone to come out and evaluate and fix it. The staff is not trained and doesn't know what to do”
“Just checked my credit card bill and these guys charged me without any service. I am positive that I am not getting my money back.”
“Not sure what part of the "NO SOLICITING / SALESMEN" part of my sign - right next to the doorbell they rang - your door to door salesmen didn't understand on March 21st. If they can't read or respect a basic courtesy sign, then I have little confidence in their ability to execute upon a lawncare plan. [added after TruGreen response] - in addition to not reading "no soliciting" signs, you clearly don't read reviews either.”
“Very prompt response to my resod inquiry. They did a great job for a reasonable price and cleaned up well. Highly recommend!”
“If I could give 0 stars I would. If you have an issue, they will make it their mission to not fix it but do everything they can to keep you on the service and make you waste call after call. Noone from the branch will ever call you back. It's hilarious that they respond to these reviews and act like they plan to do something different given half the negative reviews are about how people cancelled after months of non-responsiveness. I'm sure that if you send a private message though, they are truly concerned and will do something different. Definition of insanity. The people they send out are a never ending train of brand new employees who don't know anything about grass or weeds or the products they are putting down. The last one that was here told me that everyone else on his route had the same complaints - noone from the branch calls them back, ruined lawns, etc. He actually said that it's probably the product. I had a nice lawn when I started this service a year and a half ago, it's now the worst in the neighborhood, by far. Shame on me for listening to the customer service agents tell me over and over again how they were committed to making it right and would have the”
“I ended up canceling my account after only a few months, as like someone else had already said, the technicians do not do the entire job that you've paid for. I had paid for lawn care, tree and shrub and fire ant treatments - the front yard looks great but in the back yard, the fire ants are still there (I watched the guy spread only the outside of the lawn but not the center), the trees and shrubs in the back haven't been touched by TruGreen (again I was home when this service was performed). On calling to cancel, they did offer a free remedy and followed up a couple of days later offering a discount however my trust in TruGreen is no longer there and went with someone else update: since writing this review I find that TruGreen were at my home to do a free fire ant treatment. 1 star to 2”
“A lot of money ( $700+) for 9 visits in a year. Each visit is about 12-15 minutes long. The techs are all friendly and will answer questions. I talked with local supervisor and he verified applications, with equipment and the set up they have, only takes a few minutes..if my lawn greens up and the grub worms are eradicated, I will rethink my valuation of this service.”
“Today’s experience with Bernadette was fantastic. She was personable, informative, and efficient. My interactions with the service manager (Blake) and with Deborah have also been great. There was a mixup earlier in my service plan with the back yard not being treated, but since that was resolved, I’ve been pleased with the service.”
“Not worth it. Never treated my whole yard, failed to address the weeds, pests and fungus. I made the mistake of paying for the year. Had to ask for a refund after multiple attempts to get them to rectify and being promised that issues would be addressed. Someone finally came out after I fired them, he tried to convince me to pay for more of the same. Super disappointed. Have had better service from them in the past. But this year, it was a complete dupe. Will never go back.”
“My lawn and trees look so much better since using TruGreen, and they always notify me before service, which makes things smooth. The only downside is communication — it’s hard to reach your account manager directly, and customer service sometimes gives advice or prices without knowing your property. I had to make several calls just to get the right person for an aeration request. Great results, but access to your account manager would improve the experience.”
“Gave my yard a 360 I'm very pleased with the finishing touches”
“Our tech is really nice and professional. Greet me with a handshake and briefly explained what he would be doing today. I highly recommend him in this company. This is my second lawn treatment, in the yard already looks a lot better after the first treatment about six weeks ago.”
“Joel did a great job on our 13/4 acre property. He treated the ditch area outside of our fence. Explained everything he was going to do and made sure all the gates were secured when he left. He also let me know when he was finished and when it would be okay to let my dogs out… very professional”
“So very happy with the service provided by TruGreen! I thought I would try it and see what would happen, but these guys are true professionals and I always learn more about my part in having the most beautiful lawn ever with their assistance. Kenneth Miller is so knowledgeable and his advice to me regarding watering probably saved my lawn so that it will look amazing over the hot Houston Summer. Thank you!!”
“Good experience with lawn care specialists. Some of them are more attentive and knowledgeable than others”
