About
Welding Shop operates as a welder out of South Austin in the village of Manchaca, serving homeowners and contractors across Austin, Buda, Kyle and nearby spots in Texas. They focus on custom metal fabrication along with welding repair work for both residential and commercial needs. The shop handles structural steel, architectural pieces, and precision cuts through their CNC plasma equipment. Crews work directly with local builders, designers, and regular folks who need metal items built or fixed to hold up in Texas conditions. They stick to practical methods that get the job done right without shortcuts on the steel or welds.
In practice the team takes on jobs like repairing an antique brass candelabra that broke before a wedding, where Kyle got it back to looking untouched. They also jump on trailer suspension fixes even after closing time, replacing not just the worst break but all the worn sections to keep it road ready. Other calls involve fixing custom metal railings and hinge mechanisms on repeat visits, with the welders making sure everything lines up and lasts. From planter boxes for outdoor living spaces to component parts for bigger builds, they cut, weld, and assemble on site or in the shop while coordinating with the customer on drawings and fit.
Folks keep coming back because the work shows up solid and on time, with clear talk about what needs doing and no runaround on costs. Reviews point to fast starts on urgent fixes, clean results that hold together, and prices that match the effort without padding. Even when a batch needed redoing the shop made it right to meet deadlines. That mix of solid quality and straightforward handling adds up across the board. DIRT Score 3.84 from 26 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Kyle was absolutely great fixing an antique brass Candelabra that was purchased for our wedding decor but had a break. Can’t recommend them enough if you have a specialty repair! Just got it home and it looks like it never happened!”
“Was traveling through when I noticed my trailer suspension was broken. They started my job at 5:30, their closing time. Didn't just fix the most broken part but the all the worn out parts as well. They are top tier and highly competent with a strong desire to be thorough and do things right. Great place. Thank yall!”
“I've been to Welding Shop a few times now for repairs to custom metal railings and a hinge mechanism. I've been satisfied with the result each time. They do good work at a fair price, I definitely recommend their services!”
“We had a very disappointing experience with this welding shop. The initial batch of fabricated welded parts was poorly made and appeared rushed, requiring replacement of more than half of the order, which they agreed to do. At that point, we urgently needed the parts to meet a deadline, but communication completely stopped and we were ghosted for weeks. When they finally responded, they cited a COVID-related absence. The replacement parts were an improvement, but still not acceptable overall, and several had to be reworked by another shop. Unfortunately, the delays and quality issues caused significant disruption, and we would not use this shop again.”
“DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. They built a simple retaining wall but it doesn’t actually retain anything. Kyle the owner hasn’t called me back for months and probably never will. I’ll end up spending more money to fix their bad job. Edit: they respond after 2 years is COMICAL. There was no contractor involved. News to me as I paid yall directly. Regardless, not responding for years is crazy. Bad business!”
