Airtite Products LLC makes and puts in custom windows and doors at their spot on South Treadaway Boulevard in Abilene. Robert runs the place and they have turned out these products right there in town since 1975. The shop builds vinyl and aluminum styles such as single hung fixed picture sliding and casement units plus patio doors. They fit them to odd openings for both remodel jobs and new builds and keep a showroom where folks can see the options.

“The experience with this company was spectacular. We had energy efficiency windows and patio door installed to replace the old ones. The pricing was definitely better than I was expecting. As for the installation, the windows were installed in 1 day and the patio door the following morning. The installer was very professional and took time to make sure everything worked as it should. I definitely would recommend this company to others. Update: Having 11 degree temperatures outside and the inside set for 68, the windows and doors have performed wonderfully in keeping the temperatures at a comfortable level. The inside window temperature was about 59 whereas the outside window temperature was 21.”

“Unfortunately I'm only able to leave a rating based on the customer service. My home is just over a year old and I want to replace a French door with a new patio slider and decided to give Airtite the option to bid on my job. One of the front office ladies was kinda enough to show me the slider in front of one of the offices. She said feel free to check it out then she left. I spent time checking out the quality of the door and decided I would like to move forward with an estimate. I went to the older lady with a few questions and it was like trying to get oil out of a dry well. Not sure if she really understood anything or not. I had assumed she was taking my information. She said she would have someone get back to me. Well over a week and nothing. Waste of my time to stop by. I'm guessing the cost of this door to be somewhere in the price range of $4500 to $5500 plus labor. Looked like a decent product, but first impression of customer service fell short.”

“Ordered a screen replacement. Waited more than the quoted time. Went to pick it up. They said material was being Ordered because my window was so big. It's a normal apartment window. They cut screen material to fit in shop. It appears my small order wasn't important enough. When I worked for Abilene Lumber making doors small customers were treated well. We fit them in. Because it took little time to make them feel valued”

The owner of Airtite, Robert, was very accommodating, showing me the product line and even giving me a tour of their factory, the only one in Abilene! The installers were extremely courteous and did an excellent job replacing all the windows, which look great! “We are custom building a home for a client. The client bought all of their windows and doors from this business. Nice high dollar doors and windows. The order did not arrive as promised, the salesman Whitney did not return phone calls. When picking up the screens for the windows our customer had to wait in the lobby for close to an hour, no one ever apologized for his wait. When we installed a door and discovered the jamb was warped, they gave us the run around in replacing the jamb. They first requested pictures of it in order to replace it, then they never ordered it and did not inform us. When we followed up, they said they’d get it ordered. Followed up at weeks end to see if the door was in, only to be told the owner required we bring the door and jamb back to their location so they could look at it. All in all it put us 3 weeks behind waiting on a door they never intended to replace. Our job site is an hour away, and painters are on hold waiting for this jamb and door to be installed. They also never sent the screw hole plugs for the doors and then wouldn’t replace those either. I do NOT recommend this establishment to anyone.”

Our home looks brand new and we are so happy with Airtite's product, office personnel and their installation crew. We had our windows replaced almost two years ago and have not had any problems. “We had windows put in several years ago by airtite and noticed gobs of caulking that looked horrible but just thought that’s the way they did it. When we got ready to sale one inspector said metal strips should have been there instead of1 inch caulking. Second inspector stated window were not done right and we were lucky we didn’t have water damage. They also knocked lots of bricks loose on house on almost every window. They got angry because we made them come out and fix caulking on bricks. The caulking they used was tacky looking also. Owner did not come out and check the work”

“Walked in, and 2 lady's sitting at their desk I had to ask can We get help, it was like pulling the words out of them , like they judged us you can't afford our windows , finally the owner came out and explained the windows said I really need to come measure we said sure he came and said I will get you and price, have not heard from him at all, I have a very nice home and wanted to replace the windows. But I only had 11, so I felt it's not enough to mess with. Wish them all the best.”

“Our windows poor water in and they have came back to re silicone twice now and said “that’s all they can do”, “They are going to leak”. Now we have black mold growing. If you want a non airtight window and lack of craftsmanship for top dollar these guys are your people if I could give 0 stars I would. I hope y’all loose all business. No one should have to deal with black mold on a new build”
