Starwood Distributors dba Starwood Shutters & Shades

Starwood Distributors dba Starwood Shutters & Shades operates out of Richardson, Texas as a manufacturer and wholesaler of shutters, shades and blinds. Chuck runs the company and oversees production of wood shutters, poly shutters, roller shades, roman shades, zebra shades, cellular shades, sheer shades, solar shades, woven shades, builder blinds and fabric blinds. They handle custom orders for windows and doors from their own facility and send crews for measurement and installation.

Homeowners call them for plantation shutter installs on new builds and existing homes, plus shade and blind replacements where they want better light control and privacy. Reviews mention jobs finished in under three weeks, sometimes in just over two weeks for dozens of windows, with crews like Stoney, Javon, Ben, Steve and Jayden handling sales and installs. Customers note the shutters and shades fit exactly, with clean caulking and no leftover mess after the work.

The company answers calls and texts quickly, gives straightforward quotes and keeps the process moving from order to completion. Reviewers say pricing stays competitive because they manufacture locally, and install teams show up on time, work fast and leave the place cleaner than they found it. They cover Richardson and nearby spots in the DFW area with the same crews that handle repeat jobs for the same houses.

Javon, who helped me with the selection process, was prompt and professional in giving me a quote for the job. He provided a clear and reasonable price that fit my budget. Chuck, the owner, was also fantastic to work with. He helped me select the best shades for my windows, and I appreciated his honest advice and expertise. The installation process was smooth, and the shades and shutters look fantastic. The quality of the materials and craftsmanship are impressive, and I can tell that they will last for years to come. “Starwood was amazing! I've wanted plantation shutters for years and finally decided to invest in them for my new home. Starwood pricing was the best for real wood shutters and they include features that other companies consider options. Their customer service is excellent. I was able to call and speak to a person and my consultant, Ben, responded to email, phone and text messages (I had lots of questions!). The install was beautifully done with no mess! Will recommend them over and over again. If you are looking for a quality product and professional install, do yourself a favor and call Starwood.”

“I would personally recommend Starwood for their shutters. The prices were lower and the quality of the shutters installed were better than any of the local competitors. I would like to thank Steve for his professional services and prompt attention to detail. He walked me through the entire process from design and installation and was willing and able to answer every question fully. When they arrived for the installation everything went smooth and only took a few hours to have them installed. Thank you.”

“We recently moved to Dallas and had a wonderful experience with Starwood Distributors - we purchased a newly built house and the plantation shutters were just perfect, adding that final touch to the windows as well as light control and privacy. Extremely well built and meticulously measured for each window. We also had Starwood do an epoxy coating on the garage floor - installed with care and it looks fantastic. Great company to deal with and such nice people - we would happily recommend them.”

“We had a fabulous experience with Starwood. From start to finish the customer service was attentive, honest and helpful. Ben and Melody are great to work with and highly knowledgeable. We had priced several local companies and chose Starwood given their high quality product. Our shutters and blinds are gorgeous, lots of compliments. I wanted them in before the holidays and they worked to make it happen which we greatly appreciated. Love the plantation shutters, they are well worth the investment!”

“If I could give 10 stars I would. Just moved to the DFW area into a home that had been completely remodeled by the seller. Moved in with no window treatments. Found Starwood and was super impressed with the professionalism of the measurement, pricing and build process. The turn around time was second to none in just over two weeks (for 35+ shutters). Install was super smooth and painless. The caulking and finish work done was impeccable. Color matching for one shutter needed was easy and turned out perfectly. I even ordered a custom circle shutter for my bathroom. That shutter took a few more days - which I appreciated as they wanted to get the shutter perfect vs. just right. The ingenuity and expertise that went into this shutter was extraordinary. Very happy with the entire experience. Thank you Starwood team!”

“We have been planning for years to install plantation shutters in the home. We had several companies come to the house and step us through the process, the lead time, the quality, and the expense. Starwood was by far the most thoughtful in explaining the entire process. Due to manufacturing at their own facility we were able to get the shutters installed quickly. I would definitely recommend.”

“Excellent work from the time I contacted Starwood for shutters. The sales staff was low pressure and knowledgeable, and actually provided useful advice. Just as promised, shutters were delivered within 30 days. The installation crew was professional and paid attention to small details. The shutters were installed very well, and even caulked from every side. The shutters have an extremely high level of workmanship, with perfect fit and finish. It's been about a month since the shutters were installed, and everything is still great. Highly recommended!”

“We had shutters installed by Starwood today, and they are beautiful. What a wonderful company! From start to finish, the job was done very professionally. Jayden was the installer, and we can't say enough good things about him! if you need shutters, call Starwood, and will certainly recommend Starwood to our friends and family!”

“We had a very favorable experience with Starwood Windows and floor coverings. My husband and I decided to upgrade our window coverings with shutters. We chose them for multiple windows. The company was very fair on pricing in comparison to other companies. A couple of weeks before delivery Starwood contacted us to set an installation appointment. They were very prompt in their arrival. The quality of the shutters were outstanding and very well made. We are so pleased with out recent purchase and We would recommend their company to anyone interested. Thank you Starwood for a job well done.”

“Starwood Distributors is a top tier shutter company. Not only was the salesman that came to my home professional, very knowledgeable, he was very friendly. The appointment was thorough and he brought all the colors and samples. Starwood makes and manufactures their 100% wood shutters locally. My 4 1/2” wood shutters were the same price as all the other sizes. Not so with other companies. Just to check out other local competition, I had Budget Blinds come out to quote me too. Their sales rep didn’t have color or samples, didn’t know how to properly measure, I had to ask her questions and at the end of the meeting I asked where their shutters were manufactured and she said in China. I asked what happened if something went wrong? She said it would take forever to ship back and forth. Her bid came in double of Starwood. It took about 60 days to order and install. The Installers were very professional and speedy. My shutters are beautiful and help cool my upstairs in this TEXAS heat. An added bonus. The communication with Starwood is professional friendly and easy. I highly recommend Starwood Distributors for all your window shutter needs.”

“Starwood did an amazing job installing shutters in our entire new home. They are GORGEOUS!!! They look very high end and elegant. The price point was super competitive, they were totally willing to work with us. The customer service was fantastic from start to finish. The men who installed the shutters were courteous, punctual, professional and did an excellent job. There was very little fuss, bother or noise. It took a three man team only two hours to perfectly fit shutters in a five bedroom home. We went with Starwood b/c they are locally made here in Dallas and we like to support local. We also went with Starwood b/c of the lifetime guarantee, they stand by their products for life, that shows a pride in workmanship that you really don't see these days. VERY pleased with the product and would recommend this company to anyone.”
