Advanced Home Exteriors

Advanced Home Exteriors operates out of Richmond, Texas as a siding contractor that also handles window replacement, door work, roofing and painting. Bill owns the company and Kelly handles estimates while David and Rudy lead crews on site. They install Hardie Plank lap siding along with other James Hardie products and perform full exterior replacements that include new insulation and paint. The business lists service in Richmond plus nearby spots such as Missouri City, Sugar Land and Katy, with office hours from eight in the morning to five in the afternoon Monday through Friday.

Homeowners describe jobs that center on stripping old cedar or rotten wood siding and putting up Hardie Plank in its place, often on two-story houses or bay windows. Some projects added new doors, NT windows and full exterior painting while crews replaced trim, soffits and fascia. Kelly walked through options and explained the scope before work started, David kept the schedule on track, and Rudy’s team handled daily details. Reviewers noted the crews fixed wood rot, battled ants during repairs, and finished projects that left homes looking brand new after five to fourteen days of work.

Crews showed up on time, started early and left the property clean each evening with supplies organized. Kelly returned calls the same day and checked in during the job, while David stayed on site to answer questions and adjust for small issues like paint color changes. Pricing came in below other bids in several cases and the company took on partial siding sections instead of requiring the whole house at once. Service covers the Greater Houston area with quick responses to inquiries, often within hours.

Twenty reviews appear on file, every one rated five stars. Common points include the crews’ attention to detail, daily cleanup, clear communication from Kelly and David, and solid results on siding and related exterior work.

“I cannot say enough about my experience with AHE. Kelly came out and provided a clear estimate, explaining all of the work that would be done. Bill came out on the first day to do a walk-around with Rudy and the crew to make sure I understood the process and answer any questions I had. As far as Rudy and his crew... these guys worked so hard and were very respectful of the property- at the end of each day, you almost had no idea they had been there. Every step from start to finish was exceptional, and I could not be happier with the end result. I'm almost embarrassed to post the before pictures- let's just say the siding was past its shelf life. The transformation is amazing, and I would not hesitate to work with this company again!”

“I cannot say enough positive things about this company!! We had the BEST experience from start to finish. Kelly came out and went over the materials, process, etc with us in detail. He patiently answered my many questions and once we were ready to go he was always checking in. David was in charge of our crew and these guys were hard working, on time and cleaned up every day. We had a really big project because we had a lot of siding to be replaced. They took their time and did an amazing job. The entire process was seamless and stress free. I interviewed many companies and am so glad we went with Advanced Home Exteriors! Give them a call...you will be extremely glad you did!!”

“David and the crew that worked at our house were great. They were professional and courteous. They cleaned up after themselves well. The whole project was completed per the schedule and was the best price. I recommend Advanced Home Exteriors without any reservations for installation of siding.”

“My mom hired Advance Home Exteriors after a friend referred them to us. She needed a complete siding replacement. The initial walk through and quote was easy and professional. The whole process took about 5 days with an efficient team led by David. He was very knowledgeable, professional and provided great communication. One of the days, I had an unexpected delay in meeting David’s team to finish the project and he was very understanding and patient. Our home of 36 years looked brand new and my mom was very pleased with the result. We would strongly recommend this company!”

“I had my whole home re-sided with Hardie board and a re-paint. Kelly was professional and helpful in choosing options. The crew worked tirelessly and installation was efficiently completed with daily cleanups. I was consulted promptly when there were questions and the craftsmanship was top notch. They even replaced my exterior power plug covers and doorbell. House looks great and I’m satisfied.”

“David and crew were excellent! They replaced rotten wood siding with HardiPlank on a mostly rotten bay window, battling ants as they worked. The whole process from bid to completion was great. I appreciated the fact that Advanced Home Exteriors agreed to replace and paint sections of the house instead of requiring that the whole house be done at the same time, which was a huge plus. (Note: this review was originally written in January 2025, but somehow all my Google reviews have been removed. I can't remember exactly what I wrote last year, but I am still very pleased and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.)”

“Kelly was fantastic from the beginning when he came out to give an estimate all the way to the end of the process. Took my calls if I had questions. Ricardo and crew were very professional, paid attention to details, and did things right! The crew cleaned up each day and organized supplies to keep it professional. Very polite and respectful. I had all siding replaced with hardie on my two story home, two new doors, two new NT windows, and had them paint the whole house a new color. Highly recommend!”

“We were very impressed with Advanced Home Exteriors. We updated our 40 year home with HardiePlank. The field sales representative Kelly Smart was knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs. The field supervisor David ran an efficient operation with an outstanding crew. They started work early and cleaned up every evening before leaving. They even happily accommodated my error in paint choice. We are very pleased with the service and the outcome. We even found that they actually paid referral money to our neighbor for the referral. They are reputable and outstanding company.”

“I was very impressed with Advanced Home Exteriors. The entire team from, Kelly, David, and Bill (owner) were involved with this large project and they made sure that the job was done well and to my satisfaction. They also went above and beyond what was required. We had the entire exterior replaced with Hardy Plank and new insulation installed, along with exterior repainting. I don’t usually post reviews but they did such an incredible job that I wanted to give them a shout out. I would highly recommend them.”

“Advanced Home Exteriors was one of the best contractors we have worked with. The project took two weeks, and David and his crew were professional, punctual, and thorough throughout. Kelly, Bill (the owner), and Katie checked in regularly to keep everything running smoothly. We are very pleased with the results and would gladly recommend them for exterior siding work.”

“I had an excellent experience with advanced home exteriors. It’s been a year since they replaced my siding and gutters and everything looks wonderful. Kelly Smart was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had and everyone on site was nice and hardworking. We will be happy to use them for any other things we need in the future.”

“Kelly was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. As an engineer, I’m always looking at the details and he was able to answer all of my questions and even provide recommendations on how he would handle my wood rot problem without breaking my project budget should this be his own house. The work crew was also great, answering any questions I had during the process. They were able to replace and paint siding / trim on the front and second story of my house with Hardy and the difference is notable. The house went from looking like it was old and falling apart to looking brand new. Great attention to detail, workmanship, and responsiveness. I would recommend giving them a call if you need any siding replaced with Hardy or have other exterior needs.”

“I'd highly recommend Advanced Home Exteriors for your project. Their crew worked fast and the results were remarkable. They arrived on time each day, never left a mess when they finished for the day and even worked in the rain. They took extra care to make sure our siding was installed correctly. Even went the extra mile to install some new light fixtures to replace the old ones. The staff is prompt to reply to emails and very friendly. Their quote also came in well below several other companies we interviewed. All of our neighbors have commented on how nice our house looks now. Thank you!!”

“We are so happy with our new Hardie siding and the great job Advanced Home Exteriors did installing it. Kelly Smart was knowledgeable about his product and had great ideas about how to install it on our home . David and his installation crew were so professional and friendly to have around. We highly recommend!”

“100% satisfied with Advanced Home Exteriors from the bid process to job completion. At our 22 year old home, we discovered some damage to our Hardie Plank siding so we went to the manufacturers site to see who they recommend and that's how we found this company. They certainly proved worthy of their high rating by the manufacturer. Within a day of our inquiry we had their Estimator Kelly Smart come to the house and you could tell he was clearly experienced to know what needed to be done and how the damage occurred. But what was exceptional was his work right there on the spot to patch a hole in the siding so that the weather elements couldn't do more damage. This was done even before he gave us an estimate and before we agreed to hire the company. We quickly received the estimate in writing within a day and we found the overall cost surprisingly reasonable given we decided to go ahead and paint the entire house. Next the company found a slot in their schedule to fit us in sooner than we had hoped and the crew and materials showed up just as expected. The same crew repaired the Hardie Plank, power washed the house and did all the painting. We were super impressed with their sk”

“Our experience with Advanced Home Exteriors was absolutely OUTSTANDING - I cannot recommend this team more highly!! We had gotten into an urgent siding situation with another contractor, and Kelly came out for a quote within hours of my call. Kelly was so clearly trustworthy and reliable that we actually decided to replace all of our siding (a bigger project than we had originally planned on) because we liked the company so much and the price was so reasonable. Kelly answered all of my questions and was so incredibly easy to work with. Elvis and team who actually did the work on our house FLEW through the project, and they did an absolutely wonderful job!! They also managed to fit us in before the holidays, and they finished it so much faster than we could have possibly hoped for! They also left a clean worksite every day during the project - I am so grateful that we picked Advanced Home Exteriors for our siding, and I will be HIGHLY recommending them to anyone I know who needs siding work in the future. We are so grateful to them for all of their help and hard work!”

“Advanced Home Exteriors removed all our old cedar siding and installed Hardy siding in its place then painted the entire house , garage and even our barn. Awesome group to work with. Super Happy”

“At every step, Advanced did exactly what they said they would do. The crews were respectful, careful and very helpful. They replaced all of our siding, soffits, fascia and trim with James Hardie products and painted the house in less than seven working days. They hauled all the waste off and left the job-site clean. We have received numerous compliments on the quality of the job. I would recommend them to anyone. Our crew leader, Rudy, was a great guy.”

“We had a complete exterior makeover on our house New siding, windows and roof. Advanced home exteriors did a phenomenal job, their guys were very professional, worked from sun up to sun down. They came in with the best price after 3 different quotes. My house looks amazing hands down I would recommend these guys for any exterior improvements !!”

“Advanced Home Exteriors did my siding six years ago and I have been so pleased that when it came time to do window replacement, there was no question about who to trust for that big job. Kelly once again was great about guiding the process and decisions. The install team of Ricardo, Monroe, Leo and Carlos were great and Ricardo answered every question. The owner Bill even checked in and Katie was quick to respond to any administrative issues. A contractor you can trust is invaluable when doing a big project.”
