The problem
Your client list has twelve people in it. Three of them you haven't worked with in two years. Every time you scroll to find someone, you pass the same inactive contacts. It's a small annoyance, but it adds up.
Why we built it
Archiving keeps your active client list clean without permanently removing any records. Every archived client's jobs, invoices, and notes stay intact — just out of the way until you need them.
How it works
- 1
On any client card, tap the menu and select "Archive."
- 2
Client moves to the Archived section. Active list is clean.
- 3
Find archived clients with search or filter. Restore them to active with one tap.
What changes for your business
Before
Old inactive clients pile up in the list. Hard to find active ones.
After
Archive old clients. Active list stays clean. History never deleted.
Common questions
What does archiving a client in DIRT do?
Archiving moves the client out of your active list without deleting them. All their jobs, invoices, bids, and notes stay intact — they're just out of the way. Your active client list stays clean; the full history remains searchable.
Is archiving the same as deleting a client?
No. Deleting removes the record permanently. Archiving hides the client from the active view without touching any data. You can restore an archived client to active status at any time. Everything is exactly as you left it.
Can I restore an archived client?
Yes. Search by name or filter the Clients list to show archived clients. Tap the client and restore them to active. The full record — all history, notes, and linked jobs — comes back with them.
When should I archive a client?
Archive clients you haven't worked with in a long time and don't expect to work with again soon. Clients with open invoices or active jobs shouldn't be archived yet. The goal is a working list that shows only the people relevant to your current business.
Does archiving a client affect my stats?
No. Archived clients and their jobs still count in your stats, profit history, and earnings records. Archiving only removes them from the active client list — the numbers don't change.
How do I find a client I archived a year ago?
Search by name from the Clients screen — DIRT searches archived clients too. Or filter the list to show Archived and scroll to find them. Nothing is hidden from search; archived just means out of the daily view.
