Clean list. Nothing deleted. Restore any job in one tap.

Archiving a job moves it out of the active list without deleting anything — line items, invoices, photos, and notes stay on the record and stay searchable. In DIRT you archive from the job menu and restore to active in one tap, and archived jobs still count in your stats and profit history. The rule of thumb: if you don't need to see a job daily, archive it.

The problem

Completed jobs pile up. Your active job list turns into a scroll through twenty items, most of them done, and you can't quickly see what actually needs attention. Deleting them feels risky because what if you need the invoice history?

Why we built it

Archive is the right move — not delete. Archived jobs disappear from the active list but their full history stays intact. Search for them, reference them, or restore them to active status at any time.

How it works

  1. 1

On any completed job, tap the menu and select "Archive."

  2. 2

The job moves out of your active list. Records, invoices, and photos stay intact.

  3. 3

Search for archived jobs at any time, or filter "Archived" in the jobs list.

What changes for your business

Before

Completed jobs pile up in the active list until the whole thing is useless.

After

Archive it. List is clean. History is safe. Restore in one tap if you need it back.

Common questions

What does archiving a job do in DIRT?

Archiving moves the job out of your active jobs list without deleting anything. The full record stays intact — all line items, invoices, photos, and notes. Your active list gets clean; the history is safe and searchable.

Is archiving the same as deleting a job?

No. Deleted means gone permanently. Archived means stored and searchable but no longer showing in your active view. You can restore an archived job to active status at any time with one tap. Nothing gets wiped when you archive.

Can I restore an archived job?

Yes. Search for it by name or filter the jobs list to show archived jobs. Tap the job and restore it to active. Everything is exactly as you left it — line items, invoices, photos, and notes all come back with it.

When should I archive a job?

Archive a job when it's fully done — work complete, invoices paid, no outstanding items. It's also worth archiving old jobs from previous seasons to keep your active list useful. The rule: if you don't need to see it daily, get it out of the active view.

Does archiving a job affect my stats?

No. Archived jobs still count in your stats, profit history, and client records. Archiving only affects the view — it removes the job from the active list. Your numbers stay accurate.

How do I find a job I archived months ago?

Search by client name or job name from the jobs screen — DIRT searches archived jobs too. Or filter the list to show Archived and scroll to find it. Nothing is hidden from search; archived just means out of the daily view.
