Common questions
What are the job statuses in DIRT?
Jobs move through Draft, Active, and Complete. Draft is for jobs you're scoping or bidding before work starts. Active means work is in progress. Complete means the job is done and closed out. You can filter your jobs list by status at any time to see only what's live.
When should I change a job from Draft to Active?
When work actually begins. Keep a job in Draft while you're scoping, bidding, and waiting for client approval. Move it to Active the day you start — that's the signal that this job belongs in your current workload and should show up in your active pipeline.
What happens when I mark a job Complete?
DIRT removes it from your active jobs list so it doesn't clutter your working view. The full record stays intact — all line items, invoices, photos, and notes. You can search for it or filter to completed jobs at any time. Nothing gets deleted when you close a job.
Can I reopen a completed job?
Yes. If you need to add a line item, address a warranty issue, or create a follow-up invoice, open the job and move it back to Active. Completing a job just removes it from the active view — it doesn't lock the record. Everything is exactly as you left it.
How does keeping job status updated help my daily workflow?
Your active jobs list is only useful if it reflects what you're actually working on right now. If completed jobs pile up alongside active ones, you can't see your real workload at a glance. Keeping status current takes one tap per job and keeps your pipeline clean.
Can I filter jobs by status in DIRT?
