Common questions

Where can I see all payments on a DIRT invoice?

Open any invoice in DIRT and scroll to the Payment History section. Every recorded payment appears there — deposit, partial, final — with the date, amount, and method. The remaining balance calculates from the history automatically.

Can I see when a client made a payment on an invoice?

Yes. Payment history in DIRT logs the date and time each payment was recorded, along with the amount and method. If a client says they paid and you have no record, you check the history — either the payment is there or it is not.

How do I prove what payments a client has made?

The invoice payment history in DIRT shows every recorded payment with date, method, and amount. You can share a PDF of the invoice — which includes the payment history — or show the record on your phone. It is a clear, timestamped trail.

What if a client says they paid but it is not in my records?

Check the payment history on the invoice in DIRT. If there is no record, the payment was not logged in the app. Check your bank statement for the deposit or your Venmo/Zelle history. If they paid by check, look for the cleared amount. DIRT's payment history is only as accurate as what you record in it.

Does DIRT automatically record payments from Stripe?

Yes. When a client pays through a Stripe-connected DIRT invoice link, the payment records automatically with the date, amount, and "Stripe" as the method. The invoice status updates to Paid or Partial without any manual action from you.

How do I see a client's full payment history across all jobs?

Open the client card in DIRT. The AR balance section shows total paid and total outstanding across all invoices. Tap any invoice to see the payment details for that specific job.
