Referral code at signup. Every new user is traceable to a source.

A referral code entered at signup records who sent that contractor, which is what makes commission trackable instead of something you have to chase someone about. In DIRT you get your code and your link from Settings, then Referrals; attribution records at signup and the 20% commission activates when that contractor moves to a paid plan. The link is the more reliable of the two, because anyone who clicks it is attributed without having to remember a code.

The problem

You're an affiliate, a bookkeeper, or an industry partner who sends contractors to DIRT. But once they sign up and pay, you have no visibility into whether it actually tracked — and you have to chase someone to find out if commission is owed.

Why we built it

Referral codes at signup close the attribution loop. When a contractor signs up with your code, the connection is made immediately — you see it in your dashboard, commission is calculated, and nobody has to chase anything.

How it works

  1. 1

Get your referral code from DIRT settings → Referrals.

  2. 2

When someone uses your code at signup, DIRT records the source.

  3. 3

Track signups and earned commission in your referral dashboard.

What changes for your business

Before

After

Common questions

What is a DIRT referral code?

A code that records who sent a new contractor to DIRT when they sign up. When someone enters your code at signup, you're credited for that referral and commission tracking starts.

How do I get my referral code?

Settings → Referrals. Your personal referral code and link are both there. The link is usually easier — anyone who clicks it is attributed automatically, without needing to remember to enter a code at signup.

When does attribution happen — when they sign up or when they pay?

Attribution records at signup when they enter your code. Commission activates when they move to a paid plan — 20% of their monthly fee for 12 months.

Do I need the code if I already have a referral link?

The link handles attribution automatically when someone clicks it and signs up. The code is the alternative for cases where someone signs up without clicking your link directly — like a word-of-mouth signup who heard about DIRT from you.

What if someone signs up but forgets to enter my code?

Have them contact DIRT support to manually apply the code. For future referrals, sending your link directly is more reliable — attribution is automatic when they click through.

Where do I track who signed up with my code?

Settings → Referrals. Your referral dashboard shows everyone who signed up with your code, whether they've converted to a paid plan, and your total earned commission month by month.
