The problem
You email a PDF. Client has to open it on their phone, which is awkward. They want to pay but the PDF doesn't have a payment button. They reply asking how to pay. You text them a Venmo link. It's four steps for something that should be one.
Why we built it
The shareable invoice page is mobile-first and includes the payment option right in the page. Send one link. Client opens it, reviews it, pays. Done.
How it works
- 1
Send an invoice via SMS or tap "Copy link."
- 2
Client opens the link — sees a branded, itemized invoice in their browser.
- 3
If Stripe is connected, they can pay by card right on the page. Or you handle collection separately.
What changes for your business
Before
PDF email → can't pay → text for payment link → two more steps.
After
One link. Client sees invoice and payment option in the same place.
Common questions
How can a client pay an invoice online without downloading an app?
DIRT generates a shareable invoice link — the client taps it, the invoice opens in their browser, and they pay with card or ACH right on the page. No app download, no login, no PDF attachment to struggle with on a phone screen.
What is a shareable invoice link?
A unique URL that opens your invoice in a web browser. The client sees the full itemized invoice — your logo, line items, total, due date — and can pay by card if you have Stripe connected. You send it by text or email. They tap, review, pay. One step for them.
Is it better to email a PDF invoice or send a link?
For most residential clients, a link is better. PDF attachments have to be downloaded, often do not render well on phones, and do not include a payment button. A link opens instantly, shows the invoice cleanly, and lets the client pay on the spot.
Can clients pay right from the invoice link?
Yes, if you have Stripe connected in DIRT. The invoice page includes a "Pay now" button. Client enters their card information and pays in one step. You are notified when payment lands and the invoice closes automatically.
What does the client see when they open a DIRT invoice link?
A clean, mobile-formatted invoice with your logo and business name at the top, line items listed clearly, total due, and due date. If Stripe is connected, a payment button. It looks professional — not like a generic link from an unknown app.
Is there a way to invoice a client by text?
Yes. In DIRT, when you send an invoice, choose SMS as the delivery method. The client gets a text with a link to the invoice page. They tap the link, see the invoice in their browser, and pay if Stripe is connected. Faster collection than email for most residential clients.
