Client sees job progress on their phone — no app, no login.

A shareable job update page is a unique link that shows a client the latest photo and status note from their job in a plain browser — no login, no app, no attachment. DIRT generates one URL per update, so you control which updates the client sees and when while the full update history stays on the job. Anyone holding the link can open it, so keep sensitive details out of the caption.

The problem

Even when you send an update, if the client has to download an app or create a login to see it, half of them won't bother. Then you're back to getting calls because they didn't see the thing you sent.

Why we built it

Client-side access should require zero friction. The shareable update page is a plain link — tap it on any device, see the photos and status in a browser. Nothing to install.

How it works

  1. 1

Create a job update from the job screen with a photo and optional note.

  2. 2

Tap "Share" — DIRT generates a unique link for this update.

  3. 3

Text or email the link to the client. They open it in any browser. No login required.

What changes for your business

Before

Client update means a phone call or a long text chain.

After

Send a link. Client taps, sees the work, feels good. You keep moving.

Common questions

What is a shareable job update page?

A DIRT job update page is a unique link that shows the client the latest photo and status note from their job. It opens in any browser on any device with one tap. The client doesn't need a DIRT account or any app — just the link.

How is a shareable update page better than texting a photo directly?

A direct text works for one photo. A shareable page works better for multi-stage jobs — the client gets a consistent-looking update with your name and job context, not just an image in a text thread. It also looks more professional than a raw MMS.

Can clients comment or respond on the shareable update page?

DIRT update pages are a one-way view — the client sees the photo and note. For client responses, they'd text or call you directly. The purpose is to keep them informed without requiring a back-and-forth every time you want to show progress.

Who can see the shareable update link?

Anyone with the link can view the page. DIRT generates a unique URL per update, so it's not publicly searchable — but if a client forwards the link to someone else, that person can also view it. Don't include sensitive job details in captions if that's a concern.

How do I share the update link with a client?

Tap "Share" on the update in DIRT to get the link. Text it, email it, or paste it wherever you communicate with the client. Most contractors text it — the client gets it immediately and taps to open.

Do clients see all past updates or just the one I sent?

When you send an update, the client gets the link for that specific update. You control which updates you share and when. DIRT keeps your full update history on the job, but clients only see what you send them.
