The problem
You follow up on a lead once. No response. You move on. But statistically, most leads need 2-4 contacts before they respond. You just gave up after one.
The contractor who follows up three times isn't the annoying one — they're the one who gets the job.
Why we built it
SMS nurture runs the follow-up for you. Set the sequence once — message 1 day 0, message 2 day 3, message 3 day 7 — and DIRT sends them automatically until the lead responds or asks to stop.
How it works
- 1
In CRM settings, create a nurture sequence: set the messages and timing.
- 2
Assign a sequence to any new lead — automatically or manually.
- 3
DIRT sends the messages on schedule. When the lead responds, the sequence stops and the conversation comes to your inbox.
What changes for your business
Before
Follow up once. No response. Move on. Lose the job.
After
Sequence runs automatically. Three touches. Lead converts at higher rate.
Common questions
What is SMS nurture for contractors?
Most leads need 2–4 contacts before they respond. Most contractors follow up once and give up. SMS nurture runs the follow-up automatically — a preset sequence of texts at set intervals, so you stay in front of the lead without having to remember to call again.
How many messages does a nurture sequence send?
The default is three: one on day 0, one on day 3, one on day 7. You set the messages and timing once in CRM settings, then assign the sequence to leads. After that it runs without any action from you.
What happens when the lead responds?
The sequence stops and their reply arrives in your DIRT inbox as a live conversation. You're not sending a day-3 follow-up to someone who already said yes — DIRT pauses the sequence the moment they engage.
Can I write my own nurture messages?
Yes. You write the message text for each touch. The timing between messages is also adjustable. You're not locked into a canned script.
How do I assign a nurture sequence to a lead?
Manually when you add a lead, or set it to apply automatically to new leads from a specific source. Either way, once assigned, DIRT runs the sequence without further action from you.
Is this spam?
No — as long as the leads have opted in by reaching out to you first. Clients who submitted a form, called your number, or texted you have consented to follow-up contact. Unsolicited bulk texting is a different thing and is not what SMS nurture is for.
What plan includes SMS nurture?
