Common questions
How much free voice Talk time does DIRT give me each month?
One hour of Talk per month on the free Solo plan. For a solo contractor logging a handful of jobs a week that is usually enough, because a typical job takes well under a minute to talk in. Busy crews running 10+ jobs a week will go through it faster.
What happens when I hit the monthly Talk limit?
You get a soft limit notice. The rest of the app — typing, tapping, invoicing, stats — still works normally. You just can't use voice input until the next month or until you upgrade.
How do I check how many Talk minutes I've used?
Settings → Talk Usage. Shows minutes used vs. remaining for the current billing cycle. If you keep hitting the cap, that's the signal you've outgrown the free tier.
Is an hour a month actually enough for most contractors?
For a solo contractor logging a few jobs a week, usually yes. For someone who lives on voice input — logging jobs, queries, bids, and trips all by talking — the cap comes faster. Growth removes it entirely.
How much Talk time does each DIRT plan include?
Solo is free and includes 1 hour a month. Leads includes 2 hours. Ops includes 5 hours. Growth is unlimited. If you are hitting the cap every month, the upgrade is usually paying for itself in time saved on paperwork.
What plan do I need for unlimited Talk time?
Growth. It removes the monthly Talk cap completely. The free Solo plan gives you an hour a month to use the feature properly and decide whether unlimited is worth upgrading for.
What counts toward the Talk limit?
The time DIRT spends processing your spoken input. Navigating the app by tapping, typing, and reviewing records doesn't count toward the Talk limit.
