Walk the job on camera. DIRT writes the line items.

Recording a site walkthrough on video and turning it into a line-item bid is not available yet — the feature is in development and no release date has been announced. What DIRT has live today is voice bid drafting: say the scope and rough hours while you are still on site and it builds a draft bid with separate labor and materials lines to review, adjust, and send.

The problem

You're standing in a house that needs work in every room. The estimate is in your head — scope, materials, sequence. Getting all of that into a bid means stopping, pulling out your phone, typing by room. By the time you've written it up you've interrupted the whole site walk.

Why we built it

Video is how contractors already think about scope. Walk and talk. DIRT is building a feature to turn that video into a structured bid — line items, materials, scope notes — without you typing anything.

How it works

  1. 1

Coming soon: record a video walkthrough of the job site from within DIRT.

  2. 2

DIRT analyzes the video and generates a line-item bid from what you show and say.

  3. 3

Review and adjust the draft. Send to client or convert to a job.

What changes for your business

Before

Walk the site, take mental notes, sit down later to type up a bid from memory.

After

Walk and talk. DIRT builds the bid. You just review.

Common questions

What is the DIRT video walkthrough bid feature?

A coming-soon feature. You'll record a video of a job site, talking through what needs doing, and DIRT will generate a draft bid with line items from what you show and say. Not released yet.

Can I do bids by voice right now while this feature is in development?

Yes. Voice bid drafting is live now. Tap mic on the Bids screen, say "New bid," describe the scope and rough hours, and DIRT builds a draft bid with line items for you to review.

How will the video walkthrough feature work when it ships?

You'll walk the site on camera, talking about the scope room by room or area by area. DIRT will analyze the video and generate a structured line-item bid from what you show and say. You review and adjust before sending.

What's different about video bid drafting vs. voice bid drafting?

Voice drafting works for jobs you can describe from memory or from the curb. Video is for complex multi-room or multi-phase scopes where walking and showing is more accurate than describing from scratch.

Who is this feature most useful for?

Contractors doing whole-house renovations, large commercial jobs, or multi-trade scopes where a written description would take twenty minutes. Walk it once on camera instead.

When will video walkthrough bid be available?

No release date has been announced. Sign up for DIRT and you'll have access when it ships. Voice bid drafting covers the core use case in the meantime.
